I bumped into an inspector , while he was doing his "final inspection on my home" I spoke to him regarding the ceiling shadows. He mentioned that the batten lights spread light across the whole ceiling which will show all defects. This is not "fair so to speak". According to the regulations, ceilings should only be inspected under natural light, and to stand 1m away. Installing either down lights or pendant lights the ceiling shadows will hardly be noticeable. In my opinion, ceilings should be properly sanded, sealed and painted by roller. Like they used to in the old days.......Now its all about profit, and how quickly homes can be built....production line, hence the term "Volume builders" Once I get handover, i will repaint my ceilings, in the open areas....its amasing you pay big money for a home and you would assume you get a quality home.... You assumed! It is a bit sad though...where have all the good builders gone? The tradesmen who took pride in what they did?
