It has now been another 10 days of no action, just when I think its moving along, they stop again. I just can't understand what they are doing as there are 5 to 6 Fairmont builds on the same block that are flying along. More time to pack, and all in good time, just frustrating to watch. It is unbelievably frustrating. A house two doors down from us started a week after us and they moved in last week! Ours has really picked up lately and I just expect it to all come to a halt all of a sudden now. Pretty sad really. Building the Leabrook with Fairmont Homes in Mallala, SA. But the financial cost of this and the fact we will be homeless in about 6 weeks time has finally gotten to me. For a builder that advertises an 18 week build time, this is disgraceful. They are not doing our flooring. The only extra they are doing is concrete paths and driveway and I honestly cannot see how that can make an advertised build time of 18 weeks turn into a build time of 7-8 months. I have watched it take 8 weeks for a frame, 5 weeks for bricks and roof, 9 weeks for a ktichen, and now we're heading to 5 weeks post-kitchen and neither the tiles nor painting are complete. I have called the site supervisor over a number of site issues, pooling of water against the slab, broken stormwater pipes, and have also emailed head office, but neither issue is fixed. It is IMPOSSIBLE to talk to your site supervisor! And their letters actually say not to contact the office about delays or completion dates as it is UNKNOWN. PCI is due on 17 June and unless some major miracle happens, it won't be happening. That PCI date includes several weeks added for Christmas break and concreting. The initial date in May has already gone. They still have tiling and painting to complete, built ins, aircon, plumbing, taps, toilets, basins, sinks, downpipes to fix (they don't connect to the stormwater - wrong placement), stormwater to fix, concreting and whatever else I'm forgetting. OVER IT! You must be at the end of your rope.... We have some FM builds close by and lately they just seem to stay stagnant with no progress for very long periods of time. Their scheduling department needs a kick up the ar$e clearly... But they'll still keep signing people up and adding to the backlog... grrr Fingers crossed that you have a resolution soon. Nice to know I am not the only one haha. You have my full sympathy. I can now vouch for the method suggested by FairmontSACustom if that helps. We have had one thing happening every fortnight for weeks. A lot of the time it is something simple that only takes a day and then nothing for the rest of the week, nothing the week after. Can't believe I was complaining about one thing a week a few weeks back! Last week on Monday they put in our toilets, basins and tapware. Like normal nothing for the rest of the week. Nothing Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. Well, I was sitting here thinking if this keeps up my uni holidays are going to come and go and I am going to be put out. I think 6 weeks over completion and 35 weeks for such a simple build is fair, right I have had it. So I did what Fairmont suggested on Wednesday morning. Honestly, I wasn't so nice. I outlined how long it took between my slab and frame and frame and bricks which are similar to yours. Pointed out that it has been 31 weeks since slab down on a basic 200sqm house and basically it wasn't acceptable. I received a reply saying the construction team would be in contact. As of yesterday it was clear they weren't rushing so Mick called the SS, no answer. We have really left this guy to do his thing this whole time so he decided he was getting answers. No more taking advantage of that so he sent off a text saying "as it is now a few weeks past estimated completion just looking to find out what is happening from now". SS texted him back saying the painter would be there on Monday and he would know more when he was done so he politely asked if he had any approx ideas for completion as we were getting a bit anxious about how long it would take, no answer. This morning the construction team decided to grace us with a phone call. Apparently the painter is there today, BIR's are going in today and they expect completion in 2-3 weeks. Don't want to get my hopes up incase they're dashed but if it is that is absolutely perfect for me. So it is worth a shot Goodluck. Building the Leabrook with Fairmont Homes in Mallala, SA.
