Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 17, 2013 6:19 pm Hi all New forum member and first time home builder here. My partner and i purchased a block in stage 9c up at burns beach late last year which has been settled. Block is 590sqm and we're looking at building a custom designed single story with plunkett. At the moment we are still tweaking the floor plan but its looking good so far and very exciting. Just making sure i do my homework reading through this forum before we finally take the plunge. We have just about finalized our plans with dale Alcock. Really excited and a bit overwhelming! This site is fantastic for information. Looking forward to following your build. T Re: First time home builder Burns Beach WA 7Feb 18, 2013 2:14 pm Our block is a little smaller than yours 585sqm on whitehorses drive. we love burns and already spend a lot of time down there. Can't wait to get things moving with this build! have you finalized your plans? we actually went into a plunkett display in woodvale yesterday and thought wow, don't know why we didn't investigate them more. which area of burns are you? Do you have houses either side of you? Re: First time home builder Burns Beach WA 8Feb 18, 2013 3:32 pm Got the base floorplan back a few weeks ago with pricing and it came out under budget so we've made a few changes to it. Looking at the possibility of a raked ceiling over the living and games, just waiting for the revised pricing to see how practical that is. We are in stage 9c on the corner of paradise turn and cheviot way, few houses in the build around us but mostly vacant. You must be talking about the "Chittering Lodge" in woodvale?, loved the master sweet. Re: First time home builder Burns Beach WA 9Feb 18, 2013 10:43 pm Under budget...wish I knew what that felt like! We love raked ceilings had a couple in our initial designs but ended up changing out minds. Yes, it was chittering lodge, loved the ensuite! Would love to see your floor plan. Did you get the promotional landscape and freedom voucher package with your block? currently chasing up peet as we were suppose to get $5k voucher about a month ago buy can't seem to get an answer .
