Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Build price on paper vs quote - cairns 21Feb 21, 2013 8:52 pm Prelim Quote is in! Looks good too, only a touch over the advertised price as many of you predicted. That's with our slight modifications to the display home plan so its a good start. Downside is the soil test came is as P. Report said....The P site soil isn't the best result and it has been caused by the location of uncontrolled fill on your block and they are worried it hasn't been compacted properly. We need to get hold of the original density report done by the developer.... Also mentioned the engineer might be able to engineer it in such a way the it is reclassified as an M. Any thoughts on the test results or advice. We'll cop the cost either way but would be good to reduce it if possible. Thanks!
