Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 11, 2013 11:51 am Hi fellow forum members, please could you give your opinion on the following: Both my neighbours houses have slightly sunken driveways so to avoid that I have added retaining and have increased the FFL of my house. Now it matches the street, and have received council planning approval. However just realised the front crossover is 10cm higher that my new FFL and street height, so I can see that a car coming onto the driveway would come up onto the driveway and have to dip very slightly to the house. I wanted a street level house. There are quite a few costs in resubmitting - and no guarantee council will approve another 10cm retaining and FFL but they may - anyway I've received opinions that 10cm over such a large distance (crossover of 5.5m x 17m frontage) would not be noticeable and it’s not worth the cost. I’m unsure. I can’t visualise… has anyone got any comments? Thanks! Hi, have purchased a house with 2 single garage doors. The Centre pillar one side sits proud to the other. Can I change 2 doors into one. Please see picture. 0 6346 I am not sure whether Perth has its own way of doing things in regards to this. Most of Perth has class A (sandy soil), except for some areas near rivers or hills. 2 13091 |
