Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 10, 2013 6:46 pm How much should render cost for a brick house? We were quoted $2,000 for our two portico pillars (amounting to about 10m2), and we thought that was ridiculous. I went on Google and found quotes for $600 for the same area. What is a realistic price for render per m2? Re: Render costs? 8Feb 11, 2013 12:59 am I have had post build quotes of $6000 for acrylic render to the 2 sides rear and 5 alfresco pillars, can't understand how it can cary from $1700 with the builder to $6k. Re: Render costs? 10Feb 11, 2013 9:28 am We're getting our entire house rendered in acrylic - less than $3k for the whole thing!! Re: Render costs? 11Feb 11, 2013 10:24 am Mike; I don't really know what method the builder uses, but all we want is a render look to the pillars, no need for anything too fancy. Sounds like it varies quite a lot, most builders sound expensive, but I'm more interested in render costs outside of the builder. Re: Render costs? 16Feb 11, 2013 2:35 pm This is what our builder charged Render House (including paint) - Complete house - $7600.00 - Front façade - $2430.00 Bagging House (including paint) - Complete house $2600.00 - Front facade $950.00 Got the front, front wall and alfresco areas rendered and the rest of the house bagged. Very happy with the results. Re: Render costs? 17Feb 11, 2013 3:24 pm Can someone explain to me what the difference is between render and bagging? Are they just different methods? ETA: Gristy, $97 per m2 is really good. If we got that price it would be half the cost that they're actually quoting us. You often see it when people change the "look" of their house. Some just paint the brick. Re: Render costs? 20Feb 11, 2013 9:40 pm AubinGroveFan Our front render was included in the specs.
