Browse Forums Building A New House Re: building with simonds 22Mar 20, 2013 6:46 pm Will take some at pci, bought the five outside lights and the fencing is finished on Tuesday. I do have a question for any one as keen to find out what others are doing. Fence heights are turning out to be small issue Any answers to this question. When you have a path that goes around the house do you take the 1.8 meter fence from path. This means that when you look at it from the street its level all the way across but then you have to fill in the gap under the fence which is equal to the height of your path. Or have it level on the ground the step up at the path? Re: building with simonds 23Mar 20, 2013 7:17 pm I'm building with Simonds, the Valencia, pretty much the exact design as the display at Point Cook. Have my colour selection in a free weeks, so far process has been without any issues. Worried about seeing the final plans, scared I will miss something. Any advice? Re: building with simonds 24Mar 20, 2013 7:30 pm Just double check everything. If you can remember what was changed in each room write it down and take that with you. Alot of things got missed in our house....shower heads, lights, powerpoints, drains, and a few other things....now we have heaps of PCV Re: building with simonds 26Mar 20, 2013 9:54 pm Go around the show home and spend ten mins in each room and write down what you see and what you would change, get to the colour appointment asap even go in early to look around and price it all up. The only thing we missed are the extra point in the master WIR for the alarm. We already asked for an extra 8 so it should have been 9. Hey, We loved the Valencia in Point Cook! Got right up to the contract signing... The price came in $40k over the quote. Not including the extras we selected at colour and electrical appointments. Hope you don't get such a rude shock. Check the floor plans carefully!!!!! Good luck and if you do build it, enjoy it! Re: building with simonds 28May 24, 2013 8:52 pm We are currently building with Simonds & have had no troubles at all. Our SS has been great & so far everything is going to plan really well We started on the 9th April and today are on the "final stage" We are building the Livorno and got the $50k of upgrades fro $15k which was awesome. Also there are a few extra things we will do after handover like the feature walls, extra power points & changing the lights over to fancier ones. What are you building? Build start April 2013 - Handover End July 2013. Here is our Floor plan http://i1219.photobucket.com/albums/dd4 ... orPlan.jpg Re: building with simonds 31Jul 17, 2013 9:40 am Hi MyH1Login, We're hoping to build the Sierra in a few months and have included the raised ceiling upgrade. Have you? Re: building with simonds 32Jul 17, 2013 1:26 pm Hi mjmelb Sierra is on my shortlist and has been for a while! I LOVE the raised ceiling! Partner feels the kitchen is on the small side though, and he is a cook so he is not sold on the house.. Fabulous choice to raise it as the display homes just look amazing with it. Good luck! Where are you building? --- Re: building with simonds 33Jul 17, 2013 1:33 pm We're going to be building in Summerhill Hill (Epping North/Wollert) whenever the land finally settles. It seems most kitchens are on the small side these days which is a pain and there certainly isn't much storage space either. When we looked at the other display homes though (even the bigger ones), they just didn't compare to how awesome the raised ceiling looks in the Sierra. We'll just make do with the smaller kitchen by getting an extra cupboard to keep all of our kitchen stuff in and I guess for us, a small kitchen means less mess to clean up! Re: building with simonds 35Jul 17, 2013 9:40 pm My friend built the Sierra with the raised ceiling & OMG it looks amazing! It opens up the room so much & makes it look so bright & bigger than it appears. I wish we coud have done it with the Livorno Build start April 2013 - Handover End July 2013.
