Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 07, 2013 1:56 pm I'm nearing practical completion on my new home (about 4 weeks away). I have hired a building inspector for the various stages of the build and obviously he will be with us for the final inspection. I haven't been near the house for a few weeks (since before Christmas) and I went today to have a walk around the outside to start to get my head around any issues. I noticed that they have started to clean the inside and the painters have been back to "touch" up the outside, so things are obviously in the final stage (Yipppeee!). I'm no builder, but I had a close look at our stacker doors leading to the Alfresco/Outdoor Room. I havent spoken to my site supervisor yet, but surely these doors aren't in correctly? There are significant gaps between the Hebel and the triple stacker door around the frame of the door. Also the bottom of the door is exposed. Have they still got work to do? (I think this is unlikely if the cleaners are in!). Anyone care to enlighten me before I start jumping up and down. It is those big gaps at the side of the door that are my concern. (Note the size of the standard business card I used for scale). Even though this isn't a very exposed area, surely it isn't water proof/bug proof/unsulated at the very least, not to mention it looks terrible. They have not even made an attempt to hide the gap. Anyone have any thoughts? Some of the other windows exhibit similar, but more minor similarities. https://form.jotform.com/240284569218058 Please spare a moment to fill out this survey form for a project.
