Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 05, 2013 1:37 pm Hi everyone, I am new member but having spend considerable amount of time in the past few weeks scanning through this forum I am a big fan. We have purchased our land in Harvest Lake, Aubin Grove and just signed up with Colllier. So far so good. The consultant at Colllier was really nice and accommodating. Considering that this is our first build we have no idea what to expect and bracing for all the 'NICE' surprises. Thanks Nicci. We really liked the idea of having the shower behind the vanity. Fingers crossed Colllier is good during the build process. I was not able to find any other current threads of their build. Would love to hear from anyone building with them south or north of river. Am I correct in saying you're closer to the Atwell boundary, and the proposed Woolworths? ....(and a new train station, depending on who wins the state election!) It's finally happening! It has been nearly 6 weeks from when the slab was laid. Builder has advised that they are not able to find any bricklayers. My Building Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=62776 Re: Building with C*llier in Aubin Grove, WA- Brickwork Dela 13Aug 08, 2013 3:48 pm We have heard similar - ours has taken a while since we've chosen to use friends to do the work so it was dependent upon their availability, and this weather hasn't helped out the last few weeks. With a shortage of bricklayers - supply/demand is in their favour, so they are able to pick & choose what jobs they want to do. If the rates aren't right, or the location isn't right, it can be dependent on finding people who are willing to take on the job. Doesn't help out your situation but it's consistent with what I've heard as well. Average is 5-6 week wait but with this weather I guess longer. Re: Building with C*llier in Aubin Grove, WA- Brickwork Dela 15Aug 08, 2013 8:03 pm We waited an extra week and a half giving that the slab should be left alone for 3 weeks anyway. From reading this thread, I now feel grateful. Re: Building with C*llier in Aubin Grove, WA- Brickwork Dela 16Aug 09, 2013 11:14 am Thanks for the update from everyone. Looks like what we are facing is a genuine delay and not been taken for a ride by our builder.. Wondering what we can do about it other than wait.. My Building Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=62776 Re: Building with C*llier in Aubin Grove, WA- Brickwork Dela 17Aug 09, 2013 4:34 pm We waited 6.5 weeks from slab down till bricklayers started. building with Redink Prestart 21/3/13 Slab down 12/6/13 Brickwork started 5/8/13 Brickwork finished 26/8/13 Roof frame 6/9/13 Colorbond 26/9/13 Grey float 11/10/13 white set 17/10/13 Re: Building with C*llier in Aubin Grove, WA- Brickwork Dela 18Aug 20, 2013 6:42 pm Just been informed by our SS that they 'hope' to have the brickwork team at our block by the end of next week.. 8.5 weeks from slab down.. My Building Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=62776 Re: Building with C*llier in Aubin Grove, WA- Brickwork Dela 19Aug 20, 2013 6:50 pm You poor thing! Hopefully once they start they move really fast or you get a big team of brickies Our slab was laid around the 1st of August and our SS said our brickies were starting this week (I only asked after seeing everyone on here talking about the delays), which makes that around 3 weeks. Re: Building with C*llier in Aubin Grove, WA- Brickwork Dela 20Aug 20, 2013 8:34 pm Ouch that's a wait.
