How many external lights did u guys add dare I ask the budhet for landscaping started looking @ bricks trying to stick with the standard range budget going blown out pgh did not like checking out austral and boral next Re: Building Aspiration 35 Wisdom Homes at the Ponds 262Feb 04, 2014 1:58 pm No external lights for us, I'm going to do it after handover. their landscaping is actually not that badly priced and the guys are pro-active and prompt. we needed salt tolerant bricks so ended up with PGH in the standard range Slooowwwwly getting a Manhatten 35 in Middleton Grange Re: Building Aspiration 35 Wisdom Homes at the Ponds 263Feb 04, 2014 2:11 pm We put the external lights where you cannot possibly add later on. You can have standard external batten and you can simply change them later after handover. So we have some at the front, side and backyard. We even have a data point under the kitchen island. Probably overkill. LoL We also needed exposure bricks so we upgraded to Austral Symmetry Earth. The main reason was, our first week of school runs made us all in the family crazy. They're tougher than we thought. Our SS kindly organised the PCI date earlier so we can have the handover date earlier too. Re: Building Aspiration 35 Wisdom Homes at the Ponds 266Feb 07, 2014 5:39 pm Hi cpaces, your house looks so beautiful!!!! Your timber floors look amazing. Great to hear your SS go PCI organised earlier for you. Hopefully there are only minor things to be picked up, which can either be fixed quickly or after handover. We were told at PCI we could have handover in one week, we just had to make sure we had home building ins for our bank, took a few days for our bank to the bank cheque organised. All the best for PCI and handover! Not long now We built the Wisdom Majestic 40 - moved in! Can't believe that you still watching over our build considering you're all done and dusted. Thanks MR2 Today we have tradies putting the carpet all over upstairs and home theatre room. PCI date has been moved to tomorrow instead of the original date friday. We cannot change the Independent inspector date which probably still be on the original date. Should we wait for the independent inspector report for fixes prior handover? or they can be done after handover? We want to move ASAP due to crazy school runs we have. Does anyone have any experience with Wisdom honoring the fixes after handover? Re: Building Aspiration 35 Wisdom Homes at the Ponds 269Feb 10, 2014 11:37 am cpaces Does anyone have any experience with Wisdom honoring the fixes after handover? Nup, and I notice that our last payment actually appears to be due on commencement of internal linings, not at handover.. will have to double check that. Slooowwwwly getting a Manhatten 35 in Middleton Grange Re: Building Aspiration 35 Wisdom Homes at the Ponds 270Feb 10, 2014 12:52 pm Hi all, Going through the revised tender again and started choosing a brick colour. found one @ boral in a new range called country and a brick called mountain. Looks great, more research seems the colour is baked into the brick. Looking at the sample. it is only a few mm thick then red colour underneath, They gave us some addresses for houses built. Some of the bricks are already chipped , you can see the red underneath. Did everybody upgrade the bricks, or stick with standard. Prefer to stick within the standard range due to lots of other upgrades. More research into the home theatre. Did anyone add a clause to the contact to allow other A/V or electricians to come on site to wire their Home theatre or additional electrical work? Re: Building Aspiration 35 Wisdom Homes at the Ponds 271Feb 10, 2014 12:58 pm yeah if there is one thing I can suggest it's DO NOT GO WITH PAINTED BRICKS! our brickies thanked us profusely and every house around us that has painted have chipped and it looks terrible Slooowwwwly getting a Manhatten 35 in Middleton Grange Re: Building Aspiration 35 Wisdom Homes at the Ponds 272Feb 10, 2014 9:34 pm cpaces Thanks Onewheel. Should we wait for the independent inspector report for fixes prior handover? or they can be done after handover? We want to move ASAP due to crazy school runs we have. Does anyone have any experience with Wisdom honoring the fixes after handover? Yes, they will do it after handover. On our handover date we had quite a few things not done in time, they eventually got everything done, so don't stress!!! Get those keys! On handover day, things not done will be put down on a list, you can add the inspector items as well after going thru them with your SS. There is builders tolerance to be mindful of, so not every tiny little thing might warrant fixing, but go thru it with your SS, ours used our inspectors list as well his when organising things to be fixed. You also have your 13 week maintenance list to add items. The agreed jobs got done, not straight away but they did get completed. It's been great following your journey as well as some others building with Wisdom. I like to pop in here now and then and watch everyone's progress Great that PCI has been moved forward for you. Hopefully that means you get your keys by next Tuesday good luck tomorrow!!! We built the Wisdom Majestic 40 - moved in! Finally done the PCI today. Finally as well meet our SS for the first time. He is just a nice person. Very patient to go through each room, outside and inside. He explained about the termite guard and few things about the handover. The handover date is .... next Wednesday... YAY!! PCI wise, We couldn't find any big issues.. pretty much excellent craftmanship build. Few small things like 1 brick chipped to be replaced, a few bricks to be cleaned with tradies hand marks everywhere and several un-sealed lines around the windows and corners. The SS has been very meticulous. He said he will be putting lots of blue dots for the painters to touch up tomorrow too. The painters will not like it but that's their job. @Transformation Thanks. The kitchen splash back is in Antique White. We plan to move in by next weekend. Now it's time to contact the things that we needed to do post handover like removalist, electricals, landscape, fencing, wardrobe etc. Re: Building Aspiration 35 Wisdom Homes at the Ponds 276Feb 11, 2014 4:37 pm Glad to hear PCI went well. The driveway is done and the NBN installed. After hearing from 2 out of 2 friends' with no-show-and-need-to-reschedule stories, we're glad our installer came half hour early with 1-5pm window slot. We haven't test it since we're not moving in yet. Can't wait to move now FYI for anyone installing NBN. The NBN wiring upgrade charged from the builder (costs us $600) includes: - underground conduit from the pit to home - secondary conduit from external connection to home distribution unit - GPO for power supply near the installation wall - upgrade to Cat6 all wiring throughout home - 1 data point to home (which in our case 1 data point to the data distribution wall and 1 voice point to all telephone port inside the house as you can see from the picture below) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Building Aspiration 35 Wisdom Homes at the Ponds 279Feb 17, 2014 12:26 pm Looks good cpaces looks like you got one box outside and two inside.
