Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building Aspiration 35 Wisdom Homes at the Ponds 121Sep 30, 2013 11:45 am I think it's slowing down. Hic' Last week was finishing the roof primarily the roof corners the were left open on the previous week. Now the roof is done according to SS. Last week the brickies also came back to finish up the bricking and by Friday the bricking was done 2/3 up. SS told me that bricking will be done for the remaining 1/3 up this week. Depending on the bricking this week, he said that while the scaffolding is up, they will start the brick cleaning and downpipes all the way to next week. Bricking and roof is the slowest part, things will move along quicker once they start inside, which sounds like it won't be too far away. We built the Wisdom Majestic 40 - moved in! I think it's just because we're on a corner lot so my friend, who took the picture, took it from the side of the house, hence look big. I was looking at some of your pictures and I noticed that you have both semi recessed vanity and on top vanity. Which one is better do you think? Re: Building Aspiration 35 Wisdom Homes at the Ponds 127Oct 11, 2013 9:21 am i havent used any so far, i havent moved in so i am not too sure which one is better but i know that the semi recessed is to save space, since the vanity shelf width is reduce,it has a deeper sink. the top vanity has a wider sink but it is not deep but apart from that, i have no clue which one is better Re: Building Aspiration 35 Wisdom Homes at the Ponds 128Oct 11, 2013 11:00 am LOL. Thanks. I just wanted an opinion. We opted to have all semi recessed vanity. My DW reason was simply she does not want to clean a tiny bit of stone I front of the basin. But having seeing your picture, looks like she will have to clean the back of the semi-recessed basin. LOL Personally I don't mind either. Re: Building Aspiration 35 Wisdom Homes at the Ponds 129Oct 11, 2013 8:48 pm looking great cpaces! i like that you increased the window sizes as well to the upstairs bedrooms! Re: Building Aspiration 35 Wisdom Homes at the Ponds 130Oct 11, 2013 9:24 pm The sales guy at WH warned us that it may not be approved with council if we increase the window size. Boy we're glad we went ahead and council didn't object with the window size increase. Anyone experience any rejection from council for larger window size? Or the sales guy was just messing with us. Re: Building Aspiration 35 Wisdom Homes at the Ponds 131Oct 20, 2013 2:33 pm Hi cpaces - our builder also warned us also about increasing window sizes for certain aspects, and the reason behind/for this was in relation to privacy. We did end up increasing the upstairs windows to the front a little but were advised not to do the same for one of the windows facing the side aspect - so we didn't press it further. So I don't believe the sales staff were messing with you, they were most probably passing on some experience from recent builds. Having said that, I don't know of anyone who has had their plans rejected for increasing window size. I'm pretty sure the markings on the floor is to indicate the location for the aircon vents, which will be installed in the ceiling after the gyprocking and painting has been done.
