Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 30, 2013 9:25 am Hi Everyone, We have quite a long time until settlement and we are unsure whether we should just get the building contract etc sorted straight away or wait until 3-4 months prior to settlement? Our DA was lodged end of Feb12, DA was approved mid May12, we didn't end up starting til end of Aug12. We went past our locked in price date, but they didn't charge us more because the delays after DA was approved were on their side. Check if the case also applies for your builder.
