Re: We have our settlement booked for Monday - FINALLY! 202May 27, 2013 8:40 pm We got another lock in addition to the one on offer and you can't unlock it unless you have a key. Solved.... I had the same concern and didnt like the flick style lock. Re: We have our settlement booked for Monday - FINALLY! 203May 27, 2013 8:42 pm Provide 1x Gainsborough 1851SM double cylinder deadbolt (SC) in lieu of 550 double cylinder 12) deadbolt $25 Cheap as chips haha Re: We have our settlement booked for Monday - FINALLY! 204May 27, 2013 8:44 pm hmmm well thats helped a whole heap!... im also a little concerned about the fact you can see right into the house though? was wanting to have translucent laminate for the windows in the door-do you think that would look weird? im too keen on people peering straight in when they knock on the door lol... and im definitely getting the extra lock! Re: We have our settlement booked for Monday - FINALLY! 206May 27, 2013 8:45 pm I paid $524 to upgrade from a standard 820 door to the X26. I just looked on Humes website.... The XS11 is actually listed over $100 cheaper than the X26... Good luck to them trying to justify that cost. We got a credit for going with clear glass. I have ordered a curtain to drape across door for privacy, have seen it somewhere and it looked really good. Re: We have our settlement booked for Monday - FINALLY! 208May 27, 2013 8:48 pm jaceb thats exactly what i seen too - then i was thinking maybe its the wooden grade so grabbed out my contracts and see i have the wooden stain grade door in there so i just couldnt understand where the $700 is coming from... argh! its now lucky im starting to want to stick to the XS26 anyhow - but very annoying!... its actually in Masters displayed as a 1200 and it looks HUUUGGGGEEEE... i had to go and get a measuring tape because the other half was saying no way that has to be a 1500 plus... nope 1200 - hehehe its hugee! looks great! what glazing is everyone using... can we tint it black... Im wanting to do the same for the front windows so it may tie in all together? otherwise the door in the translucent laminate... any thoughts? My build: viewtopic.php?t=62001 It's called buying in bulk and getting good price - cheap cheap lol Re: We have our settlement booked for Monday - FINALLY! 210May 27, 2013 8:53 pm funny thing about the doors right... only want to mention this as its so worth shopping around and getting them to cost everything... we picked the DECO 3D from Corinthian doors and were costed at an extra $75 per door for internals and $95 for external to internal ones (garage ones)... i was like oh man but really wanted them so thought ok... while i was going through looking for the entrance door in the Hume catalogue i seen the internal doors in there so i asked them to cost those and they came in at $17 internals and $25 for externals... exactly the same look... ill post the picture but were obviously getting it in white... saved heaps! Re: We have our settlement booked for Monday - FINALLY! 212May 27, 2013 8:56 pm Very nice, what you have to consider is buying power and also that these type of doors cost more to paint. All adds up. All adds up. yeh i thought that too but i just posted the 2 doors i had picked... they are exactly the same as i went out to look at them so your right it must come down to buying power... as one is with Hume and the other with Corinthian doors... but pretty much exactly the same door but wholey a difference (saving) of $58 per door... im so glad i found the cheaper one Re: We have our settlement booked for Monday - FINALLY! 215May 27, 2013 9:08 pm on another note - i drove past my lot that we officially own today - woohhooo! and the house across the road from me has a roof and its looks woodland grey which is the colour im looking at... actually i started realising there are a lot of woodland greys or monument roofs.. or am i only seeing that as now that is what i have picked... kind of like how you buy a certain type of car and then start spotting all the others that are the same? very random... i best get back to the family as DD is in the lounge with her daddy singing 1,2,3,4,5 oncei caught a fish alive lol... sounds cute and i have to go join Re: We have our settlement booked for Monday - FINALLY! 216May 27, 2013 9:54 pm Good times that you never get back, go and sing your heart out Re: We have our settlement booked for Monday - FINALLY! 217May 27, 2013 9:59 pm wow! that's a big difference. Thanks for the tip HT Re: We have our settlement booked for Monday - FINALLY! 218May 29, 2013 8:58 pm Yes for sure especially since we have about 14 doors to change I was quite happy with that find - now I'm emailing all my costings...
