Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 28, 2013 3:05 pm Our next door neighbour is an owner builder and we have had enough of dealing with them. We have a couple of outstanding issues that they won't fix and we don't know who to complain to.. Where they built on our shared boundary they have splashed grey mortar on our bricks. They said they would get them washed when they got theirs washed but they didn't and now said they can't do anything about it. They also have concreted to the boundary in their backyard and quite a bit has come through under the fence (colourbond) In to our property as they didn't box it properly. We can't have any come through on our side as we are doing edging along our side of the fence and the concrete makes that impossible to do neatly now. I'm also concerned about drainage as they have not done anything about this and looking at the concrete on their side it slopes slightly straight into our property. We haven't had any heavy rain yet to test this yet though. They will not discuss it and simply give us dirty looks now that they are no longer using our power. Re: Where do you complain about owner builder? 2Jan 28, 2013 3:30 pm Owner Builders apply for a license through the Builders Registration Board, that would be my first step, they may be able to tell you how to complain to if not them. Hoping you get some action soon.
