Hi all
I am very torn at the moment and was hoping to hear your opinions and advice!
I currently rent in Hillside, Melbourne. In looking for packages for my first ever home, I assumed I would go for something in very close Plumpton as there is a lot of building going on. I've been in this area for 3+ years, like it enough, it's got many amenities and close station as well as shops. It's not that I don't like it here, but.....living here doesn't really excite me. It's just a nice place.
I was also looking in to Bacchus Marsh. I really like it there. Its quite small and charming in a rural sort of way. It's more isolated but it's the first place I felt like "home" in since moving to Australia 6 years ago.
However....it is quite far from everything. Limited amenities, kinda run down in spots, I'd have to use the v line to get anywhere by public transport. I work from home atm but my boyfriend brought up the possibility that I might get a "normal" job that would probably wind up closer to the city. And now I went from having my heart set on bacchus to thinking it's a foolish idea because of how isolated and far it is.
So my question is....just HOW important is location? Do you live in a place you love, or is your build enough to make you happy with where you're living? How much do amenities matter? Will I get bored as the small town charm honeymoon wears off? I'd love to hear what you have to say Any opinions and/or advice would be appreciated!
