Re: Building with Fairmont Homes (split level/own design) 10Jan 20, 2013 8:56 am Welcome would love to watch your build. I was brought up in Hallett Cove so know the area well. Would love to watch your build thread. We almost put in an offer on block of land and liked Fairmont's Whitmore split design, however didn't go ahead as realised the neighbours had a big deck at the back of their house that would like straight into our yard. So still hunting for the perfect block. Will you be sharing your floor plan, would love to take a nosey all good though if prefer not to of course. Re: Building with Fairmont Homes (split level/own design) 12Jan 20, 2013 3:42 pm Hi mrsrusty! What a bugger about the neighbours deck!
I would love to share our plan but I have no idea how and mainly use my phone! We have designed it ourselves but quite simple really, it's really the size we were after (3 kiddies)! Hi there Babysaurs, how quick are things going with your build? Good luck Re: Building with Fairmont Homes (split level/own design) 16Feb 02, 2013 2:43 pm Hey Amy, how much is your footings/sitework for your split in Hallett Cove? We've been looking in Hallett Cove/Sheidow Park and it seems most of the land available would need a split... Interested to know how much you guys budgeted for this. The land we are almost ready to sign a contract for does not have an engineers report available and the builder we are going through has given us a 23k allowance. We have no idea if this is around the mark. We have been told we'd get the firm price after settling on the land and the build contract is signed. New to the building game and not sure if this is usual process. Re: Building with Fairmont Homes (split level/own design) 17Feb 02, 2013 3:48 pm Hi there! It really depends how much the builder allows in the contract for footings. We allowed $11 k for the actual split and 25k for the footings. We have also been told this week we have at least 200 tonne of earth that needs moving when they dig! As your probably aware there is quite a bit of rock in the area and Rock breaking is an extra charge also. We signed our building contract subject to footing costs So if the price was ridiculous we had an Option to not go ahead. Its a great area...i say go for it! Even if your not keen on their split designs, they would be more than happy to help you with your own or modify one of theirs. Re: Building with Fairmont Homes (split level/own design) 19Feb 03, 2013 2:25 pm Hey Amy, I haven't been to Fairmont in Sheidow Park, I didn't actually know they had splits over there. So I must check it out, perhaps this afternoon!! I don't know much about Fairmont, but worth checking out if they do splits. We have been quoted a 14k allowance for split and 23k for the footings/sitework. So very similar to yours! Is your land in Hallett Cove Heights? Providing all goes to plan we'll sign our land contract in the next week or so subject to soil report. The land is being sold privately but we are negotiating it in conjunction with a builder as we want to have some idea what we'll be up for. Re: Building with Fairmont Homes (split level/own design) 20Feb 03, 2013 2:33 pm Our house design sounds similar to yours Amy! Would be good to see yours to get a comparison and see if we can get any ideas from you. I stare at it all day long waiting for some amazing ideas to pop out at me We will have WIR's to kids bedrooms too! go upvc window frames ensure insulation under colorbond. not just sarking, lighter color roof also not sure if you have seen this viewtopic.php?t=5823 last couple of pages… 4 110576 Even if it's not being sub-divided and you want to keep it as Torrens title, you will still need to talk to a town planner or Council themselves, to see if they will allow… 1 11039 |
