I've just come across this thread so wanted to introduce myself. My family is about to move into our new home in stage 3B. We built with Panel Home Concepts and the build has taken 11 weeks. This is because our external walls are thick concrete panels instead of bricks. This, combined with our double glazing, should be great for thermal comfort. I have been amazed at the quality and speed of our construction.
I have a Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/Googonghousebuild) and a blog with more detail (http://eliseandmattgoogonghome.blogspot.com.au/) if you're interested.
My wife and I have watched your place being built, we walk the estate most afternoons and take note of all the new construction going on. Some places seem to stagnate for weeks on end and others seem to go up within 2 or 3 weeks.
Congrats on your new home.
Thank you Mav I also like to see all the new homes going up nearby. Our street is very busy with construction and every week I now see places across the road in stage 4 starting to go up too.
For people that have finished building, how strict were they on you adhering to your Landscape Plan to get your bond back?
They weren't very strict on our Landscaping Plan - I stuck to the rules fairly closely but we weren't 100% finished at the time of the deadline. My main problem with them was that it took forever and a lot of chasing Jonathon up to get it done - I understand he must get busy but it was pretty poor form.
