I know that we have to submit our revised plan to the Googong Design Coordinator for approval - but does the Council also have to approve it (or at least be given a copy of the revised plan for their records)? I've rung both the Googong Design Coordinator and the Council, but I'm getting mixed messages about what's required. The Council doesn't seem to be sure about what, if anything, is required from their end. So I'm really confused about what I need to do to make sure I don't end up with problems down the track (especially as I understand from previous threads in this Forum that the Council won't issue the final Certificate of Occupancy until they see that the front landscaping is in accordance with the plan). Any advice (particularly from those who have already been through the process) would be appreciated. Thanks. The only thing you should need to do is have the Design Coordinator approve your revised plan. The developers at Googong adopt the Council's DCP, so if the developer approves the plan, so will council. When you have your revised plan approved, just give a copy of the approved plans to the Council for their reference. That way if they question it down the track, you've covered. Re: Anybody building at Googong ? 2094May 27, 2015 8:10 pm Hi there, has anyone had any problems getting their interest from the deposit back from Googong? I settled in Stage 3B in the first week of February, and still haven't received my share of interest from Googong. My solicitor has contacted them, I have contacted them, and still nothing. Just wondering if anyone else is having the same problems!! I also received a Council Rates bill, despite having paid at settlement (to Googong) rates up until 30 Jun 15. Anyone experienced this also? Re: Anybody building at Googong ? 2095May 29, 2015 10:20 pm Hi everyone, Has anyone had any experience with obtaining quotes for stone cladding. We are looking at stone cladding our front two facade piers with a ledgestone veneer product. Does anyone know of a good company that will supply and install? Re: Anybody building at Googong ? 2096May 30, 2015 10:16 pm Hi Everyone, We went for a drive out to Googong this afternoon and while our block (4B) is still behind gates we are able to get a good look at it. We did notice that there is now a street light right out the front of where our house will be... Although looking on our Lot Disclosure Plan there was no street light where one currently is (there was one indicated across the road and a few houses up... But nothing near our block). We were wondering if it's fairly common practice for them to change things such as this? We are probably being silly... Although we happen to currently have a street light right outside our bedroom window and we are often commenting on how annoying it is (ok we should just get better blinds I guess... Hehe) .. So we were a bit disappointed. So we were a bit disappointed. Unfortunately the way developer's work, their preliminary plans are never the final thing. We chose a block 2 years ago at Oran Park in Sydneys south west, and it was pretty clean from the plan, no sewer/stormwater drains or anything. When they finally finished developing the block, we found a big ugly storm water drain at the back right corner of our back yard. It's about 500mm. Its hideous, but nothing we could have done about it as they say all service locations are not final and are subject to change. Re: Anybody building at Googong ? 2098Jun 02, 2015 8:26 am Hi All,
We have settled a few weeks ago in stage 4A. We submitted to QCC last week and I want to get all of your advice on how long approval has taken in your situation? I'd also be interested to know if anyone is also building with G J Gardner out in Googong Re: Anybody building at Googong ? 2099Jun 02, 2015 9:53 am EmmaJamie I'd also be interested to know if anyone is also building with G J Gardner out in Googong We are and are very happy with them. They've said they'll be looking at building a display home at Googong when the next major area opens up.
