Does anybody know of a good landscaper who can do concrete sleeper retaining walls?
Happy to give you our stonemasons details, but concete sleepers don't meet Googong design guidelines...

At least it will all be done when you move in... And hopefully you got an awesome deal! The costs just keep rising for us. /quote] Well we think we did. We locked in our contract and if they hit stone it is on them, same for dumping of excess soil etc, also they were not able to pass on any of the price rises in the past 2 years. it sucks about the rising costs. I would hate that. have they go a possible move in date for you guys? Re: Anybody building at Googong ? 1974Dec 19, 2014 10:48 pm mr2psht roxberry2014 uncyspam has anyone found a good retaining wall contractor? We will be needing one very soon (I hope!) and its about the only thing I haven't thought about yet Also for anyone worried about NBN, I've already got our order in with iiNet, All of Stage 1B and 2A is in the database now from what I could tell. We are still investigating retaining walls. Looking at stone. We need about 54sq metres, and have been quoted $295 per sq metre plus GST for bluestone, slightly less for sandstone. That was from StoneMad. Expensive. Like everything to do with houses (and weddings and babies, for that matter). I really wish they'd put signs up in front of their work - would make it a hell of a lot easier to source the builders of the ones we've seen and liked. The nicest walls I have seen done where for the backyard of Solitarefans place. She said they cost $195 per sq meter I think. My builder directs me to a stonemason they use for $190m2 with gst, and $170 without for sandstone. But he doest count the 30mm capping times the length of the wall as chargeable area... don't know if that's the norm. We have just had cornices, skirtings and architraves installed. Painters are meant to be in over Xmas break but we've had no tiling or kitchen and bathroom cabinets installed yet. It's looking very much like a home now though Re: Anybody building at Googong ? 1977Dec 22, 2014 6:20 am Congrats Really liking the nearly full height Doors Re: Anybody building at Googong ? 1979Jan 10, 2015 2:05 pm I am in the frustrated stage right now. Our house is completed but the landscaping and bag and paint. I was assured by our site supervisor that our bag and paint would be completed during the xmas break (still has not been done). I was also assured that the landscaping (including fencing and retaining walls) would be started on the 5th and nothing has been done. I know we have had some rain but not enough to prevent anything from being done Re: Anybody building at Googong ? 1980Jan 11, 2015 8:12 am Crazy_big_al I am in the frustrated stage right now. We had some tiling done over this week (but we didn't do the tile inspection as the SS was on holidays, so hopefully they didn't stuff up). I always hear that once you do get the keys you forget about all the drama...
