Re: Anybody building at Googong ? 1625Jul 25, 2014 9:29 pm We just came back from a nice 2 week holiday went for a quick drive past on our way home and its amazing just how much can be done in 2 weeks. Our inside painting, electrical fittings, air con and plumbing are finished, we have a garage door and all the wood in our front entrance has been stained And finally my house is changing colour no more of that horrible orange/red brick they have bagged and painted about half so far Congrats to all those finally on there way to starting Re: Anybody building at Googong ? 1626Jul 26, 2014 5:34 pm We're looking for someone to build us a sandstone retaining wall. Would really appreciate some recommendations. We really like the wall at the house halfway up Baker Street on the RHS if anyone knows who built that wall. Thank you Re: Anybody building at Googong ? 1627Jul 27, 2014 2:04 pm Crazy_big_al di+matt Crazy_big_al Well we are on the construction list. We have a smeg... Still not officially approved- the town planner has approved it so now it just needs to go through the admin sign off.. I'm going to call and email daily to get them to hurry up. We ended up needing to reduce our front porch significantly (very sad about this) which made our main bedroom a tad smaller and our WIR a tad bigger.. and also had to put in a skylight in our study. In the end it's a credit but I wish we still had our big porch... Re: Anybody building at Googong ? 1628Jul 27, 2014 4:51 pm Oh which dishwasher did you originally select? We have a smeg... It was excellent and had enough room for a table and chairs but now it's too small I think Re: Anybody building at Googong ? 1632Jul 29, 2014 8:07 pm Well Covalima...at least you've got a front door to complain about .
We haven't even got a temporary fence standing....got great neighbours at the top of our street though. Battens are in for the ceiling, gyprock starts this week, and verandah posts will go up soon. Re: Anybody building at Googong ? 1634Jul 30, 2014 10:07 am We were planning on getting a friend of ours (professional concreter) to come in and do our driveway and path only to find out now it has to be an QCC approved concreter, he is going to find out what he can but it doesn't look like he will be able to do it It really makes me mad I'm sick of QCC and their little hidden things that keep coming up, we are only weeks out from finishing and now may have to find someone else to do our concreting which is going to cost way more than we had planned, the reason we didn't do it through our builder. Has anyone else or is anyone else doing their own and who did you use? Has anyone else or is anyone else doing their own and who did you use? This is the first I heard of this? Did QCC tell you in person? I don't know how they could do this as it shows a little biased towards to these concreters. Even when you submit your plans you have to sign a Document saying you wont Bribe anyone from QCC or give them gifts. A few people on hear me including will be upset. This is crazy Re: Anybody building at Googong ? 1636Jul 30, 2014 5:40 pm Solitaire fans Well Covalima...at least you've got a front door to complain about . Sorry to hear QCC are stuffing a few people around though... We've gotten off lightly with them so far by the sounds of things... Fingers crossed it continues! This is crazy Yes I rang them this morning and they told me they had to be on their approved list that is on the website, I asked if there was anyway around this or if we can do it ourselves and they said no not at all, our concreter rang and was also told the same. For some good news our house should be finished by the end of next week When are your frames up Mr2psht? Re: Anybody building at Googong ? 1640Jul 30, 2014 10:17 pm That driveway stuff seems weird. Found the following: http://www.planning.nsw.gov.au/Portals/ ... VEWAYS.pdf http://www.qcc.nsw.gov.au/Building-and- ... ontractors I don't understand how they can only let you use "approved" contractors? fair enough if they have rules that need to be followed, and if you don't follow them you don't get your certificates or whatever, but to only allow a specific number of businesses do driveways in the area that seems like there could be some conflicting interests. I guess it all depends on how hard it is to become a "approved" installer. I'm wondering if it ties in with the DP, but a quick flick through gave me nothing. go upvc window frames ensure insulation under colorbond. not just sarking, lighter color roof also not sure if you have seen this viewtopic.php?t=5823 last couple of pages… 4 110842 Even if it's not being sub-divided and you want to keep it as Torrens title, you will still need to talk to a town planner or Council themselves, to see if they will allow… 1 11142 |
