You seem to have a good concreter as well...it's not often that you see bar chairs used on a residential driveway....usually they just pull the reo up from the bottom with a rake

Rikster your house continues to amaze....I also note that judging from the quality of the photos someone has a decent camera and knows how to take a good internal photo....

We couldn't be happier with the concreter. The company is Hayes Industries and the quality of there work is outstanding. They've been incredibly helpful with council too as we've had a few issues trying to pass the inspection (bloody council!). You seem to know what you're talking about to_do_list as up until yesterday I thought a 'bar chair' was something I sat on with a beer in my hand!

So some enlightenment for the dummies? What is a bar chair?

The plastic things in the photo that keep the reinforcement were it is designed to be in the lower part of the slab or centrally located (depending on design)

Once that house is finished and you have a bit of time on your hands, if you ever want to venture into the world of film photography try Apug.org. They also have a hybrid site for those that are more digitally inclined called hybridphoto.com. Amazing forums with lots of great members who can pass on amazing information about photography. There's quite a few from Oz on there. Just don't mention digital in Apug.

Which company's stones did you use for the retaining walls at the back and what colour is it? Looks a bit blue-greyish..

Also, did you use a different capping for the steps? May be too late, but I have this post here on my blog explaining the 2 different kind of cappings which we discovered accidentally (they sent the more stronger, expensive one by mistake).

I am a bit worry if you forgot to close the doors on raining days, the rain could cause severe damage to your brand new beautiful timber floor!
