We are having rain delays again :roll:

The Gyproc can't be delivered due to all the rain. 12 straight days of rain here in Sydney.

I just can't believe the delivery companies have not thought of.... wait for it..... Covered Trucks !!!

Or wrapping the gyprock!!! :shock:

ours arrived very well wrapped in plastic....

That's a good one too !

Maybe I should suggest that to the Gyproc deliverers.

I'm just shocked, that apparently, the suppliers are all sitting at home, with a 12 day backlog, waiting for the rain to stop. Seems pretty ludicrous to me !

Yay ! Went to check out the house today....

Gyproc was delivered !

Also, the last section of scaffolding was removed.

And... best of all... my little office network cupboard has all the Cat5e cables teminating there.

I'm going to setup my ADSL (or cable) modem in there & patch it out around the house. I gave up on wireless long ago. Hard wiring seems to be the best method.

Good to have wiring, but I gave up on wiring long ago:)

Hi Greg,

I gave up for a few reasons really..
1. Neighbours were always trying to hack into my broadband connection.
2. I was not able to get the full 54mbs rate with 802.11g, unless I was in the same room as the router.
3. Our rental place has concrete floors & is on three levels. The wireless only really worked on the same floor as the router.
4. Wired will always be faster than wireless & I intend to have a networked drive loaded with movies in my patch cupboard. Streaming movies needs a fast connection.

It's just that I have not had a good experience with wireless & as you only get one chance to cable (when you build), I thought I'd go for it.

Damn fine home, love the look of it, are you going to be installing ceiling roses and all the old favourites? I also can't wait to see what you do to compliment the house with in the garden..... So many opportunities...

Looks beautiful......keep up the pics.....

Also, long live the wired........don't like wireless either, for the same reasons...

It's amazing how fast the internal stuff happens. Staircase is going in next week apparently. Very exciting.

Hi Paula,

The plaster paneling is going in the formal lounge & dining room. No kids are allowed in there !

It's being installed today, so I'll get to have my first look at the weekend.

Just LOVE the whole look of your house Rikster!

I'm wanting to do some white paneling down our hallway at some stage, but maybe several years down the track

Can't wait to see more progress pics and the final product...just stunning!

It's a magnificent house.....very nice detailing....and like the staircase....I don't look at it as being "American" if I walked off the street, looking at that facade, I'd make a judgment on what the internal styling would be and that staircase fit's the bill.
