Hi Raz, do you mean the length of the bench where the stove will go ? - if you do, you are correct, it is about 2m long. The stove is an 80cm freestanding Ilve. ![]() Ahhhh... the retention/detention tank is complete. Cost as much as a brand new Holden Commodore, but is not nearly as fast. Thank you Kur-ing-gai council ! Yes, we all "love" our council so much, and Kur-ing-gai is one of the famous one on the top list. No wonder houses in your council area are so expensive! Sometimes I still don't understand why we pay them so much money for them to put all these restriction on us.... Hi Allan, We are getting all the flooring done, then moving in. Landscaping takes two months. We can't wait that long, so that will have to go ahead while we are in there. We just have 20m of mud to walk up to get to the house ![]() We are loving living in our new home ! https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.p ... &start=315 Re: Riksters place - Kid's play area 250Jul 24, 2008 12:13 pm ![]() We are getting all the flooring done, then moving in. Just setup a "shoe swapping" zone in front of the house with lots of spare shoes/slippers/paper towel,....etc, this would help reducing muds been carried in to the house. Be careful when you are carrying big/heavythings though, specially on raining days. And your removalist is going to kill you if you pick a wet day. Lucky for us, it didn't start raining until 2 days after we moved in. Can't wait to see you moved in and good luck with the mud! I just love your house. I love the traditional look with a slightly modern twist which I feel you have achieved so well rather than just following fashion. I really love your bathrooms. Painting some of the wall such a dramatic colour has brought such interest into it rahter than plain white walls. . You mentioned an engineered floating floor earlier in your thread. Is this because they are more hardwearing than solid timber? Where are you putting carpet. Please post more photos-your house is truly inspiring! Re: Riksters place - Kid's play area 253Aug 04, 2008 10:50 pm I love reading your thread! Love your house. Could I ask what colour stain you use for the stair treads? Re: Riksters place - Kid's play area 255Aug 05, 2008 10:13 pm Sorry guys, have been very busy of late packing! - yes packing. My wife & I packed while our toddler unpacked. We eventually managed to start winning the battle. We are now nearly all packed & ready for the big move next Monday !
Sahana - thank you for your wonderful comments. All the credit really goes to my wife. She had to go against what the builders suggested as the 'norm' all through the building process. You should wait until all the curtains & window furnishings are in throughout the house (we will post pics). All the colours around the house tie in with the materials. It should look pretty good. The engineered flooring is actually a mistake. We wanted solid wood, but never allowed for the 4cm height gain with the kitchen. So we had to go with something 2cm high. We are having wood in all rooms downstairs except the formal lounge/dining room (blue paneled room), where we are having carpet. Upstairs is all carpet. bel - Very happy to hear you enjoy this thread. sammy - I'll have to check the tin ! - we just asked the builders for a colour to match the jarah floor. Re: Riksters place - Kid's play area 260Aug 10, 2008 1:59 pm Hi Everyone,
We're right in the middle of moving. Am about to pack up the pc, but thught I'd let you all know. Thanks to Telstra we will have no internet access for atleast 6 weeks! Was hoping to post the latest shots with the carpet in but there's no time. I'm off on annual leave for the next 5 weeks too. So by the time I log back we will be completely settled in with curtains, furniture and the Landscapers will be close to completion hopefully. Until then byeeeee.
