Big back yard just kind of happened when we found the block at the rediculously low price we did so it was a happy coincidence. Floor is now completely done. Looks fantastic too. Also have hung our projector and screen as well as two huge mirrors. I'll try and get some pictures up tonight. I know theres still some moving boxes floating around etc but these give a better idea of how we are going. Entry way - large 1mx2m frame for the front hall. Looks great from outside and heavy as hell to hang. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Main bathroom - Now have towel hangers up. Used robe hooks to add minimal look. Cant wait to get some colour out the back and then our dog back from another family member. Really starting to feel like home now that inside we're not living with any construction. Re: Fairhaven Homes - Driveway done, turf Thursday 466Feb 25, 2014 7:43 am Wow, you've done so well, everything is coming together beautifully! And for us it's great to get a sneak peak of a Whistler without the vaulted ceiling as we have also decided against it Building the Whistler, by Fairhaven. I would probably consider the velux skylights if we did it again, but I think they were like $4,000 anyway so not something we could have really justified. Prefer it without the vauleted space. Feels a bit more family than modern if that makes sense. Re: Fairhaven Homes - Driveway done, turf Thursday 468Feb 25, 2014 7:51 am yeh make sense, we just couldn't justify the cost of having it and weren't 100% we actually liked it anyway Was there an extra charge to have the theatre room a different colour to the rest of the house? and what colour is that paint? Really well finished. The theatre room colour is Taubmans Invincible. I think it is about $120 per wall to have a different colour. Really happy with it. Actually a bit darker than the photos. Re: Fairhaven Homes - Tiling done. ALMOST THERE! 471Feb 25, 2014 6:51 pm lovepub one thing i always hope is that all new home owners gets a nice neighbor and stand up for whatever cost they are responsible for. eg. damage or repair of items during their build. Or even maybe fair in sharing the cost for fences. Wonder how many people choose to suck it up and pay all themselves just because the neighbor is unwilling to share cost. I mean you will be living next to each other for next 20 or 30 years, and you don't want to get into a bad start with them..... Well, Lovepub, find your post about your land cost and size, I think we gonna get a same neighbor in between our lands. So let hope they are not going to become a trouble But then again, if they can afford the land and building, fence and wall is unlikely a issue... Re: Fairhaven Homes - Driveway done, turf Thursday 472Feb 26, 2014 7:35 am Nothing worse than a neighbour who is unresponsive about fencing etc. Re: Fairhaven Homes - Driveway done, turf Thursday 473Feb 26, 2014 7:48 am We went with a fencer who does it all for us! He was the cheapest and he sends the bill to the other neighbours! And if they don't pay they have to pay 2.5% every week that they are late! So hopefully it works in our favour =\ Re: Fairhaven Homes - Driveway done, turf Thursday 474Mar 03, 2014 12:15 pm So just by way of an update guys... The garage floor is being levelled and resealed today. An issue we had during the build but its being fixed now none the less. Turf all in and done and looks awesome. Measured out deck ready to drill and get started this week. We've also gotten our side fences up and they look great. Pics below! It's 140mm merbeau. There was also 3 pallets of the turf... a few pics of it going down. Re: Fairhaven Homes - Driveway done, turf Thursday 476Mar 04, 2014 7:25 am Thanks Lucinda, we decided to do both purely as fences, no gates, simply because the hot water service means I cant get a barrow down that side anyway.
