Wet day here in Warragul but they've done a really good job. Slab is very high which is actually a good thing as it minimises our driveway fall. So glad we've gotten the slab makes it all feel real. Speaking to our rep today too regarding our kitchen pantry shelves they've made them 450mm wide instead of 320mm at no charge so that everything fits nicely. I'm working Saturday however will make time to get down and hopefully get some dryer shots but below is our first slab pic! Had the opportunity today to speak to our builder today for the first time. Seems like a really nice guy. He said he hopes to have framing underway mid next week and meet onsite as that progresses from there. Re: Fairhaven Homes Whistler - SLAAAABBBB'D PICS!! 166Sep 07, 2013 9:20 am When you say Builder, is that Fairhaven the builder or do you mean the supervisor?, A friend of mine built with Fairhaven in the Narre Warren area and said the supervisor was awesome, he kept them up to date ( unlike the last builder he had used ) and allowed them to follow the build easily. we are thinking about building in 2014, so following you to see how they go. keep up the posts. Re: Fairhaven Homes Whistler - SLAAAABBBB'D PICS!! 167Sep 07, 2013 9:46 am We have a rep at fairhaven who we did contracts with and forwards us our stage invoices and a guy on site who introduced himself yesterday whom I was referring to. They've been really good to deal with so far can't complain anytime we've raised and issue or question they've been quick to respond. Have you been specifically looking at fairhaven? What area are you looking to build in? Cheers, Met. Re: Fairhaven Homes Whistler - Ready for Framing 168Sep 10, 2013 8:19 am Hey guys, Today we've had some more site work done. From some of my earlier pics you can see how high out of the ground the slab was. Fairhaven have taken the pile of soil we had at the back right of the property and spread it around made the site much more level and up to brick height. For some reason I didnt take a photo from the front like I normally do, so my apologies but here is what I have anyway! Really happy with the slope of our driveway. We've been concerned regarding it not being sure how it would end up as our block drops away pretty quick but this will work really well! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Photo of our front door area. Our driveway wont run up to the front door toying with the idea of a narrow deck or something. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Photo down the narrow side of our house. Will be our walkway from laundry to the washing line on the eastern side of the home. We'll be stumping our deck hence why we have the strips rather than a slab. Much easier to work with. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Eastern side at the back. This is where the pile of dirt used to be. Was hoping some of the dirt would have been spread right up to the fence instead of adding to the batter to fill up gaps under the fence (as we have a puppy) but thats definitely something we can do later. Really happy with how fairhaven cleaned up the batter even though I dont think it was part of our original discussions with them. Great extra. As I posted the other day it was said we MIGHT have a framer on site tomorrow or Wednesday so really hope thats the case and we can start to see room sizes and be up off the ground! Cheers, Met Re: Fairhaven Homes - Clean site Framing this week maybe.... 170Sep 10, 2013 9:49 am Thanks leaski! Really happy with the progress. Really hopeful some framing occurs this week to get an idea of sizing. Re: Fairhaven Homes - Clean site Framing this week maybe.... 171Sep 11, 2013 2:03 pm Hey all. Had a phonecall today from our builder. Bit of a delay framework to start next week and while its later its good to be informed its happening so while it might seem disappointing its good news overall haha. Builder asked me too about running some conduit and cables for HDMI, networking and speakers which I raised with our sales rep during contact stages and he's happy for us to do whatever we need after the sparky and prior to plastering! Such a relief as it means our home will be able to setup exactly the way we want for networking and data as well as video and audio. I'll draw up some plans hopefully tonight for feedback from you guys about datapoints and cabling etc... Make sure I dont miss anything! Hopefully next week I'll be back with some frame pics! Cheers, Met. Re: Fairhaven Homes - Clean site Framing next week.... 172Sep 18, 2013 8:49 am Hey guys! Truck there this morning dropping off framing! WOOHOO! Re: Fairhaven Homes - Framing Delivery! 176Sep 23, 2013 10:05 am Dropped by over the weekend and it was really surprising to see our builder had been on site and marked the slab out for framing this week! Was able to see room sizes etc really happy with how it all looks on ground. They're also there today working so hopefully a photo update tonight. Cheers, Met. Re: Fairhaven Homes - Framing Delivery! 177Sep 24, 2013 9:16 am Re: Fairhaven Homes - Framing Underway! 179Sep 26, 2013 8:38 am Thanks Leaski. Pretty impressed this morning its pretty wet around Warragul and driving to work I expected they wouldnt be there today. Really impressed to see they're there finishing off the internal walls! Hopefully can take a wander tonight and the walls will be nearly done judging by where they were up to today. Re: Fairhaven Homes - Framing Underway! 180Sep 27, 2013 7:39 am As I said yesterday we had a LOT of bad weather yesterday plus power outages and they were there all day. Took a look last night with a break in the weather. All walls finished, windows in, ply brace up and outdoor area up! My wife was so shocked they'd put in the windows (all but 2 I think) and really pleased with it all! Our windows in the living area are actually bigger than the display which we didnt realise. The display had 900wide and ours appear to be 1200wide and proportionally taller becase we removed the gas fireplace. Once again today they are there (in much better weather) standing up roof trusses! Hopefully a massive photo update tonight expect mud and a house! They've also started work on my brothers block on the other side of Warragul, as I've said before he's building the Franklin with Fairhaven. Site cut done slab in two weeks might do some updates on his too if people are interested... Cheers, Met.
