Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Hammond Rise (WA) - Content-Living Build 41Feb 22, 2013 10:00 am Hi Newbie, Where is your land. I have also taken the study out and made linen, ensuite and main WIR much bigger. I moved the shower in second bathroom to behind the door as i thought there was wasted space in front of toilet door. I also prefer to have toilet in laundry so when we or teenage kids are entertaining out back no one has to go through the house to use the loo. I also put in study nook near kitchen then pulled out back wall to extend back 2 rooms and WIR slightly. I also made walk in pantry bigger. Didnt really cost much at all to make those changes, more cost in the bigger cabinets in laundry and bathrooms. I have made other changes like making all benchtops higher. Im having second thoughts on turning the nursery into a larger WIR and ensuite as you have done.... how much did it cost you to make the changes ( removing study and increasing your WIR and Ensuite)... My land is in Landsdale ( Corimbia Estate). I havent recieved my drawings back from content, but i wonder if they owuld be okay with me making a few extra changes thanks to your clever ideas. I havent had prestart yet so im hoping it doesnt blow the budget. When you say you raised yourbenchtops, im assuming then that they are not the same as what you see in the display home? Thanks for all your valuable help Location: Landsdale Builder: Celebrations House: Gibson Re: Hammond Rise (WA) - Content-Living Build 43Feb 22, 2013 3:04 pm Thanks. We have the autocad program at work so with a bit of help from a workmate i did it all myself and put it to the builder like that. I will have a look when I get home from work. From memory I think the only cost to do that was the extra cabinet, stone benchtop and basin, plus extra shelving in linen and WIR, but nothing to change the internal walls. I'm a bit worried about prestart $$$$. I want under bench sinks for my kitchen and have heard they are expensive. But hey, I've already blown my budget with the floor coverings and have now also decided to go for reverse cycle air con so what's an extra couple of thousand. Re: Hammond Rise (WA) - Content-Living Build 45Feb 22, 2013 3:30 pm Cons of being a first home buyer - i didnt realise that the kitchen island bench didnt come with under bench sinks! How anoying! im also going to see how much content will charge with overhead cabinets in the kitchen, as i know i will never get around to doing it myself. As its my first home, i have to remind myself that i cant have everything and to keep it basic. But its pretty hard when you have so many things to choose from. We removed the ducted air con and asked for 31cc throughout the whole house. We asked for a recess in the theatre which came to $1200. We got rid of the Walk in robe from bedroom three and extended the pantry. Nothing too big. Well see how we go with prestart and will keep you updated. Im also very worried about prestar $$$. Location: Landsdale Builder: Celebrations House: Gibson Re: Hammond Rise (WA) - Content-Living Build 46Feb 22, 2013 3:37 pm When is your prestart meeting? And how long ago did you receive your plans back. My sales guy emailed last week and said we should have them back as early as next Friday (today) and prestart is pretty much straight after that. We are off on holidays next Friday so I'm hoping to have something booked for when we come back. Good idea with the high ceilings. Wish I thought of that. We did change garage to 31c though as we have 4wd Re: Hammond Rise (WA) - Content-Living Build 47Feb 22, 2013 6:13 pm im not sure when my pre start meeting is. I think its been 2 weeks since i have had my file, but havent had a good chance to have a look. so hopefully this weekend i will give them a buzz and see how my plans are progressing and when i can book in for prestart. when i upgraded my ceilings to 31cc, the garage and alfresco roof is also raised... some rule about havinga 3cc difference... will let you know when my meeting is and hopefully doesnt cost me too much. fingers crossed Location: Landsdale Builder: Celebrations House: Gibson Re: Hammond Rise (WA) - Content-Living Build 48Feb 22, 2013 6:37 pm Oh, I thought you already had plans back. We've had our file for a long time. As soon as your plans are ready the prestart girl contacts you to make appt. We signed and paid deposit end of nov. plans still not ready yet: Re: Hammond Rise (WA) - Content-Living Build 49Feb 25, 2013 12:43 pm Hi Mike, just wondering if you are able to give me a price on upgrading the following - Wood look garage door Above counter basins in bathroom External lights Chrome wastes Adding extra double power points I want to be as prepared as possible when i go into prestart meeting. Cheers Re: Hammond Rise (WA) - Content-Living Build 50Feb 26, 2013 8:56 am Hey Gabbo -Wood look garage door was $395 -Above counter sinks was $550 for two sink upgrades including upgraded wall mounted taps and an extra row of tiles for them. -Double power points were about $64. -External and internal light bayonets were $50 -Chrome wastes were $25 each I had to check my prestart variation sheet as I couldn't remember what I paid My build with Content-Living in Hammond Rise Estate (WA) viewtopic.php?f=31&t=62257 Re: Hammond Rise (WA) - Content-Living Build 51Feb 26, 2013 10:03 am Thanks for that. Not too bad. You wouldn't have an idea on the price of underbench kitchen sinks would you? Good news. Just recieved my plans back and my prestart is booked for 22nd March. Re: Hammond Rise (WA) - Content-Living Build 52Feb 26, 2013 11:08 am Hello! things look good! I'm considering content myself... couldn't get over the price difference for the same size house!! (other builders are 50k+ difference) looking forward to seeing your build progress! Was it expensive for the benches to be raised? we are all tall over here too! Re: Hammond Rise (WA) - Content-Living Build 54Feb 26, 2013 7:29 pm Sorry, no idea on what undermount sinks would cost, I actually didn't even consider them at the time but looking at them now I'm wishing I did haha. Elle, good to hear you're interested in Content, I haven't had any dramas with them yet besides the roof delay, but that wasn't really their fault. Yes the prices are very competitive for their floor plans and I fiund the prices of upgrades and variations also very competitive! My build with Content-Living in Hammond Rise Estate (WA) viewtopic.php?f=31&t=62257 Re: Hammond Rise (WA) - Content-Living Build 56Feb 26, 2013 7:38 pm my undermount sinks were 1275 dollars, that was 475 for the sink we wanted then 800 dollars for them polish the stone around the sink since it was undermounted Re: Hammond Rise (WA) - Content-Living Build 57Feb 26, 2013 7:46 pm We're building with Aussie and cost us just over $600 to upgrade to an undermount sink. Though our wood look garage cost us nearly $1,000 we had already planned our colours around it so didn't want to change it all.wish we'd known the cost prior to planning colours! Re: Hammond Rise (WA) - Content-Living Build 59Feb 26, 2013 7:57 pm Building with Aveling, upgrading my kitchen sink to undermount was $490. Hard to imagine how some are justifying over $1000! My Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=62001 Re: Hammond Rise (WA) - Content-Living Build 60Feb 26, 2013 8:09 pm I just emailed my sales guy $1760 for 2 undermount sinks which includes the display home mixer. Ouch. They are currently sourcing some other sinks which should hopefully be available by the time I go to prestart. And $396 for the wood look garage door. I would be wary.
