Feeling a little jealous but VERY, VERY happy for you.... such a stunning, stunning home Re: Lilac's Build-Custom W/Kurmond Homes - A bit of Extravag 205Mar 29, 2013 8:50 am Oh thank you - first night in tonight so looking forward to that. Still so much stuff to move over but it's all spread around Mums, Dad's so no expense as such. Thankfully today is a sunny day and we have 4 days off, so by next week we should all but be there. 1rocky kitchen is amazing what sort of sink did you get Thanks 1Rocky - the Sink is a FRANKE. It's Kubus black toughened glass surround (like induction cooktops) and stainless bowls - it's on display at Winnings in Northmead (that's where it sucked us in - along with the tap on display too ), the Tap also is a FRANKE and it too has a black strip of glass through the top. Jen1977 Lilac love everything! Your carpet what colour is it? Where did you get your pendant light from - we need to get a large one for our front door area Its the Cosma 60 - they come in different sizes - ours is 60cm around. If you google cosma you will see it. We got it from the lighting shop at Norwest homemaker but I have also seen them in the lighting shop at CHill home hub (officeworks level), they were a bit more expensive though but I know as the lighting shop in Norwest is closing down they don't have any left I don't think. You will see it hanging up in a furniture shop at Castle hill hub as you take the escalator up to Toys R us before the cafe. Facing Toys r us it's on the left in the very front over a table. carak777 Your house is AMAZING... love, love, love your kitchen Looks as though all your hard work clean the tiles has paid off, they are beautiful. Feeling a little jealous but VERY, VERY happy for you.... such a stunning, stunning home Thanks Carak - yes the tiles are not too bad now. Haven't washed them since though - too scared, just been using my dry micro mop. Still getting wax coming off but not as much as the first rounds. Definitely made a difference. Hired a buffer and used this tile cleaning stuff for porcelain and seems to have got rid of the haze. I'll post the name as I can't remember as I know a few people have strucggled with Porcelain. Thanks Chrystee - Fridge space is between pantry door and coffee machine, under the overhead cupboard. It too is black to blend in - it's the sharp 4 door, but we need to pay for some other stuff before we can pick it up. Will be after pay day in April. Currently have our old one in the garage to get us through. I haven't been on H1 for a while so can't believe you are in already. I love the black border in your entry - it looks really beautiful. Congratulations - you must be so happy to be in. We are up to kitchen/ bathroom cupboards being installed so hopefully not too far off for us. Re: Lilac's Build-Custom W/Kurmond Homes - A bit of Extravag 210May 06, 2013 2:50 pm Wow lilac your house is lovely! Love the kitchen. The pantry cupboards are they standard or upgraded to be variable heights? Also with your kitchen lights I have asked for the same thing drop pendent lights, did you supply them and they installed? Did you add lights to the back of the kitchen benches to shine down the glass splash back, looks great? Now I am thinking whether to do our own tiles or get them to do them. Ah the decisions. As the standard with kurmond isn't 600x600 and this is what I like. My worry is finding a good tiler to do the job. Without that doesn't matter how good my tiles are. Thanks for sharing your house. Hope you have settled in. Re: Lilac's Build-Custom W/Kurmond Homes - A bit of Extravag 211May 11, 2013 9:37 pm tc76 Wow Lilac - your house looks sensational! Yes got keys first week March, but needed to finish our stuff of - tiles carpet etc. Barely touched the sides and I am beginning to think building the house was the easy part! Hope to see some pics - do you have a thread yet? I've driven past your place a few times.... looks really nice. UpsizeTime Wow lilac your house is lovely! Love the kitchen. Hope you have settled in. Hey Upsize, Our pantry shelves came like that. I was expecting fixed shelves so was thrilled when we got adjustable and was not expected. I guess it's standard as we didn't ask for it, but I would just check as I am not sure if their acreage builds are different when it comes to inclusions - for example we didn't pay extra for our splash back to go up to the bulkhead, but I think normally it is addiitional etc. The lights down the back of the splash back are part of our range hood, I love my range hood.. there are 3 and you can keep your finger on the button and have them change from bright or dim - depending on the mood we tiled our own and it's such a mesdsy job, part of me felt that it would have been a whole lot easier to have got them to do it and had the house handed over all clean and polished. We had A LOT of cleaning after our tiler finished but I can highly recommend him, but it's not cheap, however cheaper than through the builder - it's the labour, bugger to lay format tiles and costs more. We unfortunately have a lot of tiles, but he did a brilliant job so really glad we did them post build.... They're tricky decisions though.. Good luck and if you need anything else, happy to help. When you go through the electrical plan with Rod (electrician), when you get to the kitchen, just say you're supplying pendants and can he install. I think we forgot to say that and when we dropped them off, they had not put the support beam through the roof to hold them, so they then needed to do that but if you cover it off in your electricals appointment then you'll be good to go. He and his team are great - by far the best trade of our build.... so accommodating and his boys are lovely... You won't have any troubles with Rod West Electricals....... Great team! Do you finally have a driveway? Nothing much has happened so probably why I haven't been on. Hi Charlie23 - better later than never with the reply but even 7 months on - still no driveway.. we have a bit of one for council at the cross over but we have so much concrete to pour we haven't been able to afford to finish it and the final bit has to all be done in one go - between about 180sqm-200sqm I think still to go.. We have been trying to get our basix changed to not include air conditioning as we wanted to get the drive done but can't afford both. really long story, but in order to get our interim OC we needed air conditioning as it was a contributing factor to our basix rating. therefore through necessity we were being forced to do the air-con first. Only problem was we weren't planning on putting in air-con straight away - we wanted the drive so DH can finish the gardens (he's a landscaper) and I don't want anymore dirt/sand on my poor porcelain tiles... Kurmond should not have had it in our basix to start with as we had pulled air-conditioning out of our tender. Anyway, only about 3 weeks ago Kurmond changed the basix and certifier approved it - so now no need for air-con (yay!) so drive is booked to be poured after Xmas (double Yay) when our concreter is next available - about the 20th Jan... Now it's sooooo hot, I need air-con so this will happen about March after a couple of good pays. House is still pretty much the same but by mid next year we should have enough money saved up to have a complete drive, air-con and extensions off the back alfresco so hubby can then do his Japanese garden. I will post at that point some updates. he has finished the laundry side of the garden - looks amazing. helps to own your own wholesale nursery - at least our garden looks prosperous. with all the lovely plants - and what a difference a bit of turf makes... I will try and take a photo tomorrow -our first little completed project anyway. Anyway happy Xmas and New Year to all. Be safe with your families. It's been a big year full of all emotions and in many ways I am looking for 2014 to show itself. Thanks for all the input and support - certainly wouldn't have been as fun without you (or sane for that matter)! xx Blog: http://cbcbuild.blogspot.com.au/ Building Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=62155 Re: Lilac's Build-Custom W/Kurmond Homes - A bit of Extravag 215Feb 24, 2014 12:50 pm Fantastic kitchen. We are thinking similar colours for ours, but with stainless steel appliances and pale grey splash back. Where are the kitchen pendant lights from? Hi, we live in an area where the black soil is prone to a lot of movement. We have an old 50's house with masonite everywhere and nails popping out, warping, rusted etc.… 0 4510 I'd get the gutters to match your roof and pipes to match the paint - otherwise they become a feature. Nice pick with the paint colours! 1 34269 6 55347 |
