Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 13, 2008 1:27 am I went to the homes ideas place in Clayton today mainly for Ready Mixes exposed aggregate displays, by the way nice display of aggregate. Apparently Ready mix is the best to use.
Anyway i saw a nice sandstone paver display. what are your opinions of this paver for my ALFRESCO? WOULD THE COLOR MATCH WITH THE BRICK WORK.. im totally blind to matching colors. thought it would be an extension of the floating laminate flooring i have had laid down . if not any other color ideas i would be grateful ALFRESCOhttp://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee29/clath_photos/Image071.jpg INTERIOR FLOORING http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee29/clath_photos/Image134.jpg SANDSTONE PAVER FOR ALFRESO http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee29/clath_photos/Image141.jpg OTHER PAVERS IN THE RANGE http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee29/clath_photos/Image140.jpg Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: sandstone pavers 2Apr 13, 2008 3:18 am Np clue on colors there's plenty of people who will give you wise council. I'd choose the colour that is closest to your floor - which I think looks like the top row, middle tile.
pure sandstone is tricky to maintain - prone to cracks - but the reconstituted stuff is more hard wearing (according to the guy at Urban Stone) - and looks great! however, we walked on some reconstituted pavers without shoes and it's also a bit rough on your feet. if you're after a material that's cool on the feet (even if the pavers have been in full sun all day), smooth and non-slip when wet - then reconstituted limestone pavers might be a good alternative. After 4 years - we're in! Re: sandstone pavers 4Apr 13, 2008 12:09 pm clath
I really love sandstone ... it has a beautiful look and feel but can be hard to maintain ... from memory you would probably want to seal it in case you drop red wine etc on the tiles. If you go for reconstituted stone make sure you know what you are getting. There are a lot of r/s products out there that are predominantly made from cement (which is not necessarily a bad thing btw). I'd pick a colour from your floorboards and match it with that i.e. one of the darker or lighter tones on the board. Your floors look grey/beige/neutral so I wouldn't go for yellow tones. First row first or second paver looks like a good match IMO and I also like the darker one in the middle for some contrast . I had 28m2 of engineered pavers laid six months back and it was difficult to find someone not taking the pi$$. Internet suggested it should be $85-100/m2 to lay them.… 3 12357 Appreciate that Chippy. I won’t do sand under pavers and will connect all up under pavers, however I was going to do: 1) Roadbase compacted with manual hand tamper 2)… 10 18551 |
