Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building in Spring Farm Riverside - Stage 51 321Mar 12, 2014 8:04 pm I agree with that riverside_24. It's not suprising that we haven't heard anything!! Re: Building in Spring Farm Riverside - Stage 51 323Mar 12, 2014 9:08 pm Just general questions, but if enough people keep asking it will annoy them as they are annoying us and others.I just keep sending them asking where are we up to, what's happening now. They don't tell us much because we don't own the land so they keep us in the dark, knowing we can't legally do much. But Colin will gladly let you pullout knowing there is no registered land around Camden and they can now sell it for more. Re: Building in Spring Farm Riverside - Stage 51 324Mar 12, 2014 9:28 pm I have sent general request for update as per letter from two weeks ago - where it says there would be a resolution today. And despite declaring the letter was about issues with Council, nothing further was explained and it was very cleverly worded to mean absolutely nothing but an excuse for the heat to be deflected. Anybody's sunset clause getting close? It is terrible that people have to back out and they are so willing to let you go without penalty only because by giving you a measly 5% back, they can make a further 20% the next day! Really unethical. Yet stages continue to be released. It's becoming an absolute shambles regardless of who is ultimately to blame. So next step beyond some emails providing some pressure? There's mention of media - will this fuel fire or assist to resolve? Not against it, just worthy of discussion if it will influence the outcome for so many families. If it gets the correct type of attention, it would be good. Re: Building in Spring Farm Riverside - Stage 51 325Mar 12, 2014 9:35 pm Yeh I'm worried it could hinder progress but at the same time would like to prevent this sort of thing happening for the future stages to have to go through what we are going through.. Plus a new subdivision in leppington according to their website! They need to just suck it up and pay up FFS! Re: Building in Spring Farm Riverside - Stage 51 326Mar 12, 2014 9:39 pm Yes justice for all would be nice as I would not wish this upon anybody. Additional pressure and heat would be satisfying after what we have had to endure. We are treated as uneducated, clueless individuals who have a lot number - not savvy young families making a life-long investment. It just baffles me their ability to just neglect the very people who are paying for land! Re: Building in Spring Farm Riverside - Stage 51 327Mar 13, 2014 5:30 am Cornish Group may be willing to give deposit back, but what about the 5% paid to builders. If people do walk away there is a lot of money to be lost. Also house prices have considerably increased over the past year. Should anyone now be considering to buy a house it will cost a lot more than it would have a year ago. Re: Building in Spring Farm Riverside - Stage 51 329Mar 13, 2014 7:41 am Yeah despite the frustration it seems like the smart thing to do. Land value alone, when compared to say stage 44 (the most recent release) is generally up by about 20-25% compared to early-mid 2013. Hence the reason why the will happily hand your deposit back. Maitjosh - we have had to walk away from a building contract and have already lost $3K so I know what you're saying and we were lucky we pulled out before paying 5% and committing (which we also would have lost as of January this year). So you're right, not just living expenses (as Immy mentioned earlier) like rent, childcare, travel etc. but it's the masses of money going down the drain with other deposits and trying to plan/rearrange lives to make the move! We must have all won the lotto and be millionaires! Re: Building in Spring Farm Riverside - Stage 51 332Mar 13, 2014 8:38 am Yeh that sounds good Immy.. Stop flooding the forum with this stuff. Re: Building in Spring Farm Riverside - Stage 51 334Mar 13, 2014 8:41 am Good idea - what will we call this new group? Re: Building in Spring Farm Riverside - Stage 51 335Mar 13, 2014 8:42 am I am happy to create - or if anybody else has done so, just fill us in on the new page name and we can start gathering there Re: Building in Spring Farm Riverside - Stage 51 337Mar 13, 2014 9:21 am Sure thing - it is called "Riverside Residents". See you there. Re: Building in Spring Farm Riverside - Stage 51 338Mar 13, 2014 9:26 am PM me your emails if you want me to invite you to join, otherwise request through FB Re: Building in Spring Farm Riverside - Stage 51 340Mar 13, 2014 10:09 am Hey all, just spoke with Colin again today and he said they SHOULD be releasing another update via email this arvo.... as frustrating as this whole thing is it CANT ALL be cornish's groups fault can it??? i have called council who just gave me the run around as well..... this whole thing has got to come down to money!!! cornish group wants to save $$$ and council wants more$$$!!!! anyway while my block grows in value and its costing me zero i can wait a little longer, it just sucks for those who's builders are stinging people with fees now. ALSO whats everyones thoughts of a land registration BBQ when it FINALLY registers... bring an eski sit near the lake and enjoy the view that we are all looking forward to. Colin said he will pay $$$$$$$$ And we're finally moving forward! Trenches and plumbing in, should hopefully see a slab any day now. 9 33279 DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair We purchased a 1960s property that is on timber stumps mostly, and a newer section is on concrete stumps.
