Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 08, 2013 9:06 pm Hi everyone We just got the house demolished today and slab is due to be poured in two weeks. I am ver keen on getting polished concrete flooring for downstairs. Can anyone give me advice on whether this has anything to do with slab ie does decision have to be made beforehand, or is the flooring concrete an additional layer etc? This may be a dumb question but am complete building rookie and would love some advice.....plus need time to convince hubby to do instead of tiles. Thanks everyone!!! on a steep learning curve...YIKES!!! But as "SmithiesWife" said, pick the concrete mix first. The floor in my house they have drilled small holes and used spay paint to mark out power points, light switches, etc. Re: do we need to decide on polished concrete before slab po 6Jan 09, 2013 3:12 pm Negative- Before the build always but in saying that it can be done as a retro fit but there are issues that can arise and the cost is MORE to protect stuff and work around things. If the floor is covered and the builder/supervisor takes care the floor will be fine. Where you are coming from is where you are going to...
