I rang up the office yesterday to chase up our soil & reports etc as it had been 3 weeks Was told nothing had been done as the land subdivision hasn't been approved or submitted yet and for some reason I wasn't told Obviously our neighbour Yoda has had all this done so I kicked a bit of a fuss about it but spoke to him this morning and apparently the engineers wont do it (not so much because of the soil test but the surveying can't be done because they work off the kerbs?) Basically long story short... We still have our contract but nothing can progress until December but before that if we want to we can sacrifice a portion of our deposit for the master plans that were done and end our contract or choose a new house and thankfully if we change our house the flooring sales rep can re-write our order and keep the deposit against it! phew... but here we go again! no clue what direction we are heading in yet but feeling well and truly let down after being assured by the rep that all of this paperwork could be done prior to settlement Siteworks 8/11 Slabbed 19/11 Our Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65703 Re: Mt Barker Build - Crazy Confusion! 351Jun 12, 2013 5:38 pm You poor thing I think i've echoed this via our texts the past few days! Re: Mt Barker Build - Crazy Confusion! 353Jun 12, 2013 9:53 pm We're going to look around at our other options especially now that settlement is expected for Dec 31st when we first signed we were expecting Sept so have extra time to save $$$ Keeping the contract going with Stsman in case we just decide to stay as is but pretty disappointed with the experience we've had so far so a little wary of continuing with them Basically we need to decide whether the get something a little bigger or stay as is and be able to upgrade everything we want to Siteworks 8/11 Slabbed 19/11 Our Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65703 Re: Mt Barker Build - Crazy Confusion! 355Jun 18, 2013 11:55 pm Davelle We're going to look around at our other options especially now that settlement is expected for Dec 31st when we first signed we were expecting Sept so have extra time to save $$$ Just wondering if you have decided to stick with Statesman. We have just bought a block in Bluestone, Mt Barker and are feeling your pain with the Statesman process!! Re: Mt Barker Build - Crazy Confusion! 356Jun 19, 2013 8:41 am Hey Nic Where abouts is your block? We probably aren't going to stay with them but still have the contract to fall back on if needs be Even with people aware of this probelm they still aren't communicating with us as we'd expect and spending some time with some other companies really opened our eyes to how helpful and educational some of the other companies are, we're just waiting for some quotes back etc and an update on our land before we bother re-signing What issues are you having? Have you already signed with them? p.s we also have a bluestone/orchard thread which we all keep in touch on this is the link if you want to join that one viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64641 Siteworks 8/11 Slabbed 19/11 Our Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65703 Re: Mt Barker Build - Crazy Confusion! 357Jun 21, 2013 9:06 pm Hey Davelle Thanks for the note re the other thread I will definately take a look. Our block is on Bluestone Drive near the current land sales centre. Where abouts is yours? We have paid the deposit with Statesman and finally got the final plans today (after 4 weeks). Now its another 3-4 weeks for the soil/footings report ARGH!!!! Cant wait to do selections but finding it hard considering you can really view the tile selections etc before you go there (or know the up grade prices). I can see what you mean about communication, unless you email them every second of every day, you dont hear from them. We have actually missed settlement because they have taken so long but we now have an extended settlement which is great. Re: Mt Barker Build - Crazy Confusion! 358Jun 21, 2013 9:33 pm You can go into beaumonts and they can help show you your tile selections etc We saw some we liked in the office displays and went down to beaumont with the codes etc to have looks at the others that were available You can also get ANYTHING you want quoted prior just ring the office and ask to speak to a colour consultant then you just email them what you want quoted, tile upgrades, stone benchtops etc but they can only do it once your master plans are done We waited 3 months for file acceptance master plans took weeks longer than their meant to and then 3 weeks waiting and heard nothing in regards to soil report and got told when i rung up chasing them that they aren't going to do them until settlement! so irritating I wish they would just communicate better we heard from our rep on monday who said he would sort it all out and call back the next day - still no call but I'm sick of chasing! Oh that's good they extended it for you! I hope everything goes smoother than the experience we've had so far Siteworks 8/11 Slabbed 19/11 Our Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65703 Re: Mt Barker Build - Crazy Confusion! 359Jun 21, 2013 10:33 pm Davelle We waited 3 months for file acceptance master plans took weeks longer than their meant to and then 3 weeks waiting and heard nothing in regards to soil report and got told when i rung up chasing them that they aren't going to do them until settlement! so irritating I wish they would just communicate better we heard from our rep on monday who said he would sort it all out and call back the next day - still no call but I'm sick of chasing! 3 months!!! that is crazy. I can totally understand how you would be sick of chasing, it feels like they never call us we have to call them. Hopefully the other companies you are getting quotes from will be better. I think i know where your block is, on the other side of the play ground at the back of the land centre. It is really nice down there, near the walking path etc. Looks like we might be neighbours Re: Mt Barker Build - Crazy Confusion! 360Jun 21, 2013 11:40 pm Hey Davelle, was just reading about the change of mind. This is your first home right? So are you getting grants? Just wondering what the effect may be if you do sign with someone else. If the grants go before you do (which new build may) you'll only be eligible for whatever is available on the day you sign. I may be telling you something you already are well aware of. So apologies, just a thought that came into my head. We rushed into signing to make sure we got the first home owners grant then ironically 6 weeks after we signed it went up another $8,000. Only got the $7,000 due to the date we signed. I had 28m2 of engineered pavers laid six months back and it was difficult to find someone not taking the pi$$. Internet suggested it should be $85-100/m2 to lay them.… 3 12412 Hi All, see above image.
