I've looked through your build (and blog) many times for inspiration and months later I still think......wow! Well done, beautiful job. Could I ask how about your vinyl planks.......my DH is set on tiles but I really want vinyl planks. Do you see scratches? How does is hold up under fridge? Do u think it would be ok in laudry? Did you glue yours? Sorry for so many questions. Any advice would be helpful. We have them in scullery and they are fine in there. Kids play area has some scratches but can only see if sun shining on them. Which isn't often. No idea bout under fridge. I assume fine as when we moved out of last place the floor was fine And thank you for compliment Re: Leanne's Baldivis Build - WIR pg142 2893Oct 22, 2014 10:01 pm I think you never win you either have tiles and have to deal with grout or floor board thingys and you may get scraches . I have tiles I lost I would of loved not to have them .. Re: Leanne's Baldivis Build - WIR pg142 2894Oct 22, 2014 10:22 pm I'd def prefer the occasional scratch over grout any day. I'm really not a tile person. Except bathrooms Re: Leanne's Baldivis Build - WIR pg142 2896Oct 22, 2014 10:40 pm LeanneR I'd def prefer the occasional scratch over grout any day. Re: Leanne's Baldivis Build - WIR pg142 2898Oct 23, 2014 10:35 pm My slab was grinded (long story) with screed also Re: Leanne's Baldivis Build - WIR pg142 2899Oct 24, 2014 11:21 pm Hi Leanne, I am just about to finish my build with Commodore (Handover next week) and am planning on getting the Karndean flooring like yours. I'm interested in hearing about your slab being grinded/screed? The floor inspector from the company who plans to lay it said there were huge issues with my slab and that it would require priming at $12 sq/m. Thanks Re: Leanne's Baldivis Build - WIR pg142 2900Oct 24, 2014 11:31 pm Short story: slab was crap. huge trench as wide as my living space. Whole main area of slab had to be grinded and self level compound used in the trench. It cost us an extra $1k to have that done. We were on tight timeframe so we paid, otherwise our floor installers told us we should fight the builders as it's not to standard. But it's done now, my SS has been fired or moved on from what I told from 6 month maintenance person.
