Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Leanne's Build #2 - Baldivis - Land Titles yay! 241Jan 29, 2013 2:19 pm In leaning 2 or 3. Gonna have show DH tonight as he flies in this evening. See if he has a preference, usually he just lets me choose but I'm hoping this time he has a firm answer to help me haha Re: Leanne's Build #2 - Baldivis - Land Titles yay! 243Jan 29, 2013 7:39 pm Thank you! Hoping to have some building action end of next month Re: Leanne's Build #2 - Baldivis - Land Titles yay! 244Jan 29, 2013 10:08 pm Congratulations Our build thread with Redink 11/1 - Prestart 5/4 - Slab 29/4 - Brickwork 27/5 - Roof Cover 20/6 - Lock Up 20/8 - PCI 10/9 - Handover Re: Leanne's Build #2 - Baldivis - Land Titles yay! 245Jan 30, 2013 5:11 pm So turns out I wont have my contracts early. Just part of contract for bank to be happy. Manager coming to our place tonight to sign it. Still waiting on our file to go to drafting before we can even book prestart so prob another 5-6 weeks away. Too stay im annoyed would be an understatement. Guessing wont have slab til late April now. Getting really impatient. So far my experience with commodore homes in 2011 was far more enjoyable. Glad this is the last house we are building for a very very long time. All I can say it the build better go smoothly Re: Leanne's Build #2 - Baldivis - Land Titles yay! 246Jan 30, 2013 7:42 pm Yep I think it's a combination of many things, The reshuffle of the company, now the building industry is peaking and Commodore haven't got enough workers to do the jobs so it's backlogging and I think this is there way of stretching it out so it seems like small progress happens few and far between over a longer period of team until they're ready to start building your house. Re: Leanne's Build #2 - Baldivis - Land Titles yay! 247Jan 30, 2013 8:02 pm They need more staff. I'm still shocked we all have same CA. When we built I knew other people with C homes and we all had different people. There was also multiple SS for each area and so on. Looks like they have screwed up in firing all staff cause now they can't keep up and annoying their once happy clients. Re: Leanne's Build #2 - Baldivis - Land Titles yay! 248Jan 30, 2013 11:46 pm So turns out they are super busy. So they letting us book our prestart for march now instead waiting for final contracts. Prestart is booking out 3-4 weeks in advance. He said they've already started booking march. So we gonna choose date Julian is ment be home bout mid March. Then apparently 2 months from prestart to slab so looking mid May. Pretty p!ssed off but what can I do but wait ..... Some more. Re: Leanne's Build #2 - Baldivis - Land Titles yay! 249Jan 31, 2013 12:03 am That sucks L but at least you have your prestart booked. I wish we'd booked or had the chance to book ours earlier. March will be here before you know it - it's Feb in two sleeps! Re: Leanne's Build #2 - Baldivis - Land Titles yay! 250Jan 31, 2013 8:05 am I know it will all happen, just feels like forever since we signed up 5 months ago today. 3.5 months to go til slab down I'm also completely organised & ready for prestart. Guessing keep on waiting and waiting. I want prestart over and done with so I can stop second guessing everything. I have 6 weeks of second guessing to go haha We were given a new updated client file and have gone for 3 colour choices for 2c bricks to 10 choices! We were going with Trealla Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ But now we want go brikmakers and see these 3 also. Mandu (its a newcolour), Brindle & Galena Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Leanne's Build #2 - Baldivis - Land Titles yay! 251Jan 31, 2013 3:23 pm I like the smooth brick and like Dark so Galena (we are having Tourmaline) Re: Leanne's Build #2 - Baldivis - Land Titles yay! 252Jan 31, 2013 4:08 pm ^^^ that's the one DH likes best. I want see them in person to decide so will head brickmakers within next couple of weeks. If we go with a dark grey will have to upgrade to off white mortar as cream wouldn't look right. Plus will go nicely with surfmist roof. Settlement agent has told us we will be settling on our land Valentines Day Re: Leanne's Build #2 - Baldivis - Land Titles yay! 253Jan 31, 2013 7:07 pm Prestart booked for 13th March Re: Leanne's Build #2 - Baldivis - Land Titles yay! 255Jan 31, 2013 10:37 pm Galena is black. Mandy looked nice. Glad you're not going trealla as its coming out very yellow at the moment. I know it is a long time. We signed the contract to buy our land over 4 months ago now. It seems like longer than that but probably because it was since July we started looking at land and building. Re: Leanne's Build #2 - Baldivis - Land Titles yay! 256Jan 31, 2013 11:49 pm AC - yeah I'm expecting my mid May. Today marks exactly 5 months since we signed with the builder! Sucks considering we settling on land in 2 weeks! File went to drafting today and we've signed early contracts (just need sign working plan and site work costs). Prob be ready in few weeks but DH goes back work for few weeks so timing is off. Re: Leanne's Build #2 - Baldivis - Land Titles yay! 257Feb 01, 2013 11:24 am Hi LeanneR We have finally decided to create an account on here. Have been reading all C Homes posts as we are also building with C Homes. It looks like we are at the same stage, we are just waiting for Prestart which is booked in for 6 Feb. Building with Commodore Homes O&A - 21/08/12 Prestart - 6/02/2013 Slab - 22/05/2013 Brickwork completed- 19/07/2013 Roof started - 12/08/2013 Re: Leanne's Build #2 - Baldivis - Land Titles yay! 258Feb 01, 2013 11:39 am Im the same as you Leanne. Expecting a slab about mid may. Titles aren't expected until April. Signed with builder in October :/ long long wait. At least with Aveling I'm able to do pre start and having everything ready to go prior to titles being released. Hopefully once your build starts it will be all smooth sailing and a nice prompt pace for you!
