Although I'm building with someone else, my builder was quoting 22 weeks after slab down.
Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Leanne's Baldivis Build #2 - Waiting, more waiting 453Apr 21, 2013 9:41 pm Slab to keys I assume. With my last build was 18.5 weeks from slab to keys. Re: Leanne's Baldivis Build #2 - Waiting, more waiting 455Apr 22, 2013 7:31 am Yeah I'm not expecting 18.5 weeks but 22 weeks would be nice! Everyone cross everything I get final plans this week. Re: Leanne's Baldivis Build #2 - Waiting, more waiting 456Apr 22, 2013 12:20 pm I reckon 22 weeks is totally achievable Leanne, especially if the weather isn't too poopy this season. We never get a heck of a lot of rain here in Perth anyway - would be way worse if we were in Melbourne! One of the Aveling chicks said that ours may take a little longer because of the triple garage. Has anyone had a triple garage before in their build and can attest to this? It's only bit extra. We have extended our garage to boundary & increased the garage door size. Plus added a store. Our house was too wide for a triple garage. DH would of loved to have one. Re: Leanne's Baldivis Build #2 - Waiting, more waiting 458Apr 22, 2013 1:31 pm Yeah, I thought it sounded strange too. Maybe the girl wasn't 100% sure what she was talking about...hopefully Our thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64272 Purchased land August '12 Titles Jan 27 '13 Prestart - Jan '13 Re: Leanne's Baldivis Build #2 - Waiting, more waiting 459Apr 22, 2013 1:42 pm It certainly is frustrating - especially with new estates. Sometimes it takes forever for titling. Hopefully the weather is kinder to you than it has been to us. At every critical stage of our build where you don't want it to rain - it rained... But as you've built before you know that patience is the key - after all you want them to do a good job rather than a quick and d0dgy one. Well at least that's what I tell myself 11 months on from the site being cut. Re: Leanne's Baldivis Build #2 - Waiting, more waiting 460Apr 22, 2013 2:04 pm So true! I can handle delays for a reason though (EG bad weather, no titles etc). Its the delays cause of not enough staff, mistakes being made and so on that I don't like. And the waiting. Like it would take an hour tops to do prestart changes to a floorplan.
