Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 02, 2013 10:56 pm Hi all. Googled some aggregate driveway options in Perth and apparently there is a lot of choices. Can someone recommend which one is better exposed or coloured and which one to chose? Is quality of one better than the other? I've heard that some installers are not pouring a lot of aggregate to save on the cost, I think someone said that they only put like couple of cm on top. My understanding that one of the suppliers is Holcim with their Concept™ range http://www.holcim.com.au/index.php?id=15084. Hanson have their Imagecrete http://www.hanson.com.au/Productsandservices/Concrete/ImagecreteDecorativeConcrete.aspx Boral with their Exposed Pebble http://www.boral.com.au/productcatalogue/product.aspx?product=2785 and Luminesque™ Are there any others? I know that prices are about $90-100 per m2, just don't know who to go with... Re: Which Aggregate To Choose (Perth Area)? 2Jan 03, 2013 7:13 pm We're in the same boat, there are lot of suppliers and there and Ive heard plenty of horror storues bout paying thousands and getting an unsatisfactory driveway. Im not of much assistance but I have heard mostly good things about Holcim Re: Which Aggregate To Choose (Perth Area)? 3Jan 04, 2013 8:39 am Yes we will be in same boat soon. How to find a reputable contractor? Our last one made a big boo boo on our driveway. Apprentice went a little wild with the concrete cuts. Promised to rip it up and fix but took off instead. (After receiving full payment of course). Be careful. Maybe hunt around your neighbourhood. Knock on people's doors and ask what their experience was and who they used. Word of mouth is a good tool. Good luck AGF Re: Which Aggregate To Choose (Perth Area)? 4Jan 04, 2013 8:46 am If you need a recommendation, try Parkerconcrete.com.au - does a brilliant job and definitely not a "cowboy"! Good luck! Re: Which Aggregate To Choose (Perth Area)? 5Jan 10, 2013 4:32 pm Someone here used Contek Concrete Solutions. Anyone else have a feedback on them? Re: Which Aggregate To Choose (Perth Area)? 6Feb 11, 2013 11:23 am Parkers are a bit on the pricey side but for a good job cant complain, conteks are a nightmare to get a hold of and some forums are saying they're bailing on work?!? Ive got quotes from Benchmark (heaps cheaper than contek) but I havent heard from anyone who's used them?
