Please help 62Jan 07, 2013 12:34 am busybusybusy I forgot to add; we had a termite inspection done on our house and in the report it stated we ARE high risk because of wooden floors (its vinyl plank) idiots! Please help 65Jan 07, 2013 11:04 am Serialbuilder...lifting and replacing vinyl planks is no problem..well I only know how to replace the directly glued ones...You basically just need to heat up the plank with a hairdryer which softens the glue and then lift it up....place new adhesive and put down new plank...VOILA..that simple... Please help 66Jan 07, 2013 11:11 am Thanks Oneness, sounds almost too simple. Ours were glued but we were told you needed an 'expert'. Are the first 2 pics too grey to go with our marri furniture? Top pic is a Karndean Light Worn Oak and the 2nd a Kenbrock Norwegian wood vinyl plank against my entertainment unit. The third is our last home. I always thought the floor blended too much with our timber furniture, so this time I wanted it to have more of a contrast but still be warm. I dont normally have trouble choosing but this really has me stumped. If I can't make a decision soon I might have to opt for tiles after all, which will hurt the budget for sure Help? VIA iPAD PHOTOBUCKET. yayyyy j Me three, love the first picture! Having it all the same colour blends everything in too much and it looks too matchy very exciting!! SerialBuilder -To be honest I am not a fan of the lighter pretend looking woods...I love vinyl planks and when I initially saw all the new Karndean range with Niveus, Magna, White washed oak etc and the camaro range I absolutely totally fell in love with them...BUT then i got some samples and put them with our furniture which is mostly white with some balinese teak and sadly they just didnt look right...I think its because they are a bit wishy washy and dont actually look real... IMHO I think the grey/beigey ones are great if you are after the shabby chic/beach shack feel but i think if i had them i would tire of them very quickly as they are just the "in thing" for now...Whereas warm timber colours never date...and should you change your furniture whatever type/style/colour you get it will always go with wood. Please help 69Jan 07, 2013 9:58 pm Hey Oneness, the first pic didn't really give a true colour indication. The mild worn oak has much more red in it, as far as I remember. I'm heading back to the shops 'again' tomorrow just to confuse myself some more. You have a valid point about colours dating. I will give it all great consideration. Thanks. Re: Vinyl planks - hate, love, indifferent? Please help 70Jan 07, 2013 10:01 pm Do you know what paint colour or even take knob of drawer of your furniture or something and go hold them against different flooring. I took my paint sample along as it took my ages to decided on a paint colour so I would of rather find a floor that suited then other way around Re: Vinyl planks - hate, love, indifferent? Please help 71Jan 07, 2013 10:03 pm LeanneR, I'm taking one of my drawers tomorrow. Great minds think alike.... Re: Vinyl planks - hate, love, indifferent? Please help 72Jan 07, 2013 11:12 pm Good idea...Also the stores generally have some large sample boards that they let you borrow overnight...So it might be worth borrowing the ones you are interested in and place them against your furniture in different lighting as the shops are either quite dingy or too artificially lit... You gotta get it right as its a big investment to get wrong! lol Good luck Slab Poured 30/05/12 Lower Floor Plate High 20/08/12 Upper Floor & Wall Framing 30/08/12 Roof 14/09/12 Lock-Up 13/12/12 Yee haaaaa WE ARE IN & I HAVE A NEW IPHONE Re: Vinyl planks - hate, love, indifferent? If you get the chance please see page 1, I've changed the name of topic and edited first post. Looselay, anyone heard of it?. New to AUS (12 months but nothing comes up for reviews), it has been in the UK and US for years. Super dooper product, or so I'm told! Help!!! Re: LOOSE LAY KARNDEAN - update from old thread 75Jan 08, 2013 6:12 pm I had not heard of them until going instore couple of weeks ago...We think they were brill and so easy to even do yourself...Unfortunately none of the colours grabbed us but they are great product...you can just pop them on the floor and they do not move...just like the floating floors really, I dont see why you would worry about them having to be glued... You can read more here http://www.karndean.com.au/en-au/commer ... earch=true Good luck! Yet another product to confuse us I think the colour you prefer is a good choice...less grey Slab Poured 30/05/12 Lower Floor Plate High 20/08/12 Upper Floor & Wall Framing 30/08/12 Roof 14/09/12 Lock-Up 13/12/12 Yee haaaaa WE ARE IN & I HAVE A NEW IPHONE Re: LOOSE LAY KARNDEAN - update from old thread 76Jan 08, 2013 6:18 pm Hi Oneness and once again the camera - bloody expensive thing - doesn't do the colour justice. It looks almost pink but the darker shade actually is a perfect match with the marri. Just rung the salesman, he's going to get me some phone numbers of customers I can stalk for a reference. I am DETERMIND to get it right this time around. BTW, did the shop you went to have all the colours available for viewing? I just cleaned out the store of all the planks they had available in this particular colour and won't return them until tomorrow - ooops. haha Re: LOOSE LAY KARNDEAN - update from old thread 77Jan 08, 2013 6:34 pm never heard of loose lay. Is that ones that click together? I think id prefer them to glue it down id feel weird knowing they just laying there Re: LOOSE LAY KARNDEAN - update from old thread 78Jan 08, 2013 6:40 pm Leanne you can check them out in Solomons or Trevors...they are a great product BUT the colours did nothing for me...just not my cup of tea...If they had one we liked we would have got them in a heartbeat...
