Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 02, 2013 11:54 am Some people told me it's necessary to find an inspector by myself to check the quality of construction. Because the site supervisor is from builder, he/she cannot be 100% 'objective' and 'neutral'. Can I ask are many people doing that or is it needed to find an other inspector rather only relying on site supervisor? Thanks. They should be PCA and they should do inspection to check the quality? http://www.sbac.com.au/ But they haven't told when they would perform an inspection, or they would deal all of it with builder? Thanks. Re: Is it needed to find an inspector to check the quality? 4Jan 02, 2013 9:57 pm hfwangoz My CC is issued by Sydney Building Approvals Centre Pty Ltd. Re: Is it needed to find an inspector to check the quality? 5Jan 03, 2013 2:31 pm We got an independent inspector in at frame stage ($550). Although we have an excellent relationship with our builder, we still wanted someone truly independent. The inspector was actually really impressed with our builder's quality, which gave me a lot of peace of mind, and absolutely worth the money. The builder wasn't very happy about us getting the inspector, but he understood and the end result was all good anyway. So I would wholeheartedly recommend it. We didn't bother with PCI inspection. Thanks for the advice J I would send it to the certifier who is technically your representative and working on your behalf not the builder's 1 2282 i would suggest nothing is unreasonable for PCI. we did all sorts, including checking the hot water, checking all the GPO's had power, testing that the showers were… 9 98697 I do enjoy the drama:-D In his latest two videos he has started bringing security guards to site, I am waiting for the punch on to begin lol 6 45568 |
