Although we have an excellent relationship with our builder, we still wanted someone truly independent. The inspector was actually really impressed with our builder's quality, which gave me a lot of peace of mind, and absolutely worth the money. The builder wasn't very happy about us getting the inspector, but he understood and the end result was all good anyway. So I would wholeheartedly recommend it. We didn't bother with PCI inspection.
