Reasonable prices too for the quality of tile. Most are imported from Italy or Spain and are stunning. Thinking of cancelling the builders tiles and buying our own from this place I will speak to the builder tomorrow afternoon when he comes over. It's official... We're building! Tick, on with the next box now Re: Our custom home - downward slope - Contracts signed! 90Feb 12, 2013 7:47 pm Part deposit paid to builder today. We are now waiting on permits and insurances. This waiting game sucks Fingers crossed for a site start in 4 to 5 weeks I've waited over 5 years already - I want to see some action on site! The engineering showed we needed extra bracing but thats ok as the builder isn't charging us extra for it. There were some issues getting the building permit. Some admin issues with the permit (ie. land in maiden name, building contract in married name. I had to prove I was me. Again ) and some issues with council that are getting ironed out now. Builder thinks he will have the permits this week then site start asap. Cross your fingers for us!! I know how you feel. Our waiting game is almost finished and now we are waiting for the waiting game to finish LOL It's been more than a month since the valuation and we jumped through different hoops but hopefully all getting sorted now and I'm glad we haven't removed a single inclusion, so the project is going ahead as is with all bits and pieces I've got the impression everything that happens before the slab is a matter of pure bureaucracy Wish your build starts quicker then you think Meanwhile I've been browsing a lot (!!) and fell in love with some Scandinavian interiors have a look http://stockholm-vitt.blogspot.com.au/2012/12/slettvoll-live.html it helps to kill time Re: Our custom home - downward slope - Contracts signed! 93Mar 05, 2013 7:39 pm OMG!! LOVE that blog. Thank god I can't buy from there! Yes, it does seem all the pre slab stuff is red tape and waiting. I'm soooo over waiting. Congratulations AmyMumma23 Awesome! Thank you All day I have been singing the Martika song 'I feel the earth move', all for a good reason. The earth works started for our build today. I'm so excited to finally be at this point. Of course in typical excited new home builder style, I did take approx 35732 photos of piles of dirt, excavators and rocks. If there is one thing I learnt today it's that I cannot make a pile of dirt look interesting to anyone other than myself. So rather than bore you with the same scene taken from 10 different angles I have decided to share the one photo. This photo is taken from the bottom of the house looking back up to the street.
