That's amazing!!!!!!!! I'm so happy for you!! Even if they don't stick to it it means they have a finite list of things to do that they are seeing an end to. Build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65085 Re: Our custom home - down slope - Timber floor pics 769Jul 10, 2014 7:48 pm Meanwhile the floors look incredible, so reflective! But I can understand why you were originally concerned about living with them like that. What did you decide in the end? Build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65085 Re: Our custom home - down slope - Timber floor pics 770Jul 10, 2014 8:38 pm We decided to keep the high gloss. They're not as glossy as we originally thought they would be. Plus we figured they'd dull down sooner or later. We did ask though that a few areas were fixed as there is a small section they didn't polish near one of the bedrooms, a few runs on the stairs and the entrance hall has a few bubbles in it. Once that's fixed we need the gaps between the skirting boards and timber floor fixed and we asked for a few litres of the gloss and hardener so we can do any further touch ups. Tonight we said to the builder "3 weeks! Are you sure!?! There is a lot of work to do. I don't think you'll make it in 3 weeks". His reply was "I'll be happy to prove you wrong on this one!". Who knows, maybe he will complete everything in 3 weeks, only time will tell. We have received handover dates in the past, hence my hesitation at getting too excited. I guess we will see how committed they are to achieving this sooner rather than later. With a German Shepherd and an American Staffy that live indoors those floors will be trashed in no time But... I wouldn't have it any other way, I love my fur babies We wanted timber floors as they can be sanded and re-sealed in years to come so I guess we had already resigned ourselves to the fact they'd be ruined I should design and make them some slippers Custom downslope build Build thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=61873 Blog http://www.buildingroyalmanor.blogspot.com.au Re: Our custom home - down slope - Timber floor pics 775Jul 10, 2014 10:32 pm Ha ha puppy slippers - our last house had Matt and we had a dalmation then too - try keeping fur babies out <!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href="https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=62083">viewtopic.php?t=62083</a><!-- l --> Re: Our custom home - down slope - Timber floor pics 776Jul 11, 2014 8:28 am congrats on the possible handover date the floors look lovely. Re: Our custom home - down slope - Timber floor pics 777Jul 11, 2014 1:46 pm Looks like our front door frame was fixed today. It was a little crooked which made the doors sit a little crooked. Hubby and I will go down to the house today to have a look at it. I'm hoping Nawkaw have started work on fixing the mortar colour too. Fingers crossed we have some lovely surprises when we go down there today. I love the gloss. Try these: https://petsplus.com.au/products/RF-GT07.jpg ooOooOoOooOoo... My a babies would love those Nawkaw were on site today fixing the mortar colour in a few places around the house. Here is a picture I took a while ago of the lower deck. You can see that the mortar on the wall to the left of the photo is quite discoloured in some areas. http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/x400/smallnads/Royal%20Manor/IMG_1290Large_zps5df36804.jpg This is the same wall after being fixed by Nawkaw. I think it looks much better. http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/x400/smallnads/Royal%20Manor/photo2_zps41706a83.jpg No one has gone around to fix the mortar holes yet so I hope that when they do this they're careful to ensure the mortar colour matches. I would have thought it would have been more logical to patch the mortar holes around the place before Nawkaw fixed the mortar colour, but I suppose I will just have to hope it now matches. The front door frame was also straightened today. It looks much better. I can't wait to see the porch rendered and the door painted. The render will be Dulux Champignon and the doors will be painted in Monument gloss. http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/x400/smallnads/Royal%20Manor/photo1_zps1a0ae83e.jpg More of the cracked bricks have been removed from the porch pillar. This will be rebricked before being rendered. http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/x400/smallnads/Royal%20Manor/photo3_zpsff9f0e15.jpg The steps between the rear garage door and the laundry have now been completed. The steps from the deck down to the ground are still to be done. http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/x400/smallnads/Royal%20Manor/photo1_zps280c7a85.jpg I also noticed that one of the kitchen drawers were missing. The drawer needed to be shortened slightly so I assume this has been taken to the cabinetmaker to shorten. The drawers were not made incorrectly, they just needed to be shortened as the gas line for the cooktop runs directly behind it. Kresta phoned me today trying to organise an installation date for our curtains and blinds. I advised the lady I would phone her next week to arrange a time. I need to find out when the cleaners will be going through the house as I'd prefer to install the blinds after the cleaners have been. FocusOn Furniture also phoned today asking us (again!) when they can deliver the couch. I had to advise them that we are still not in the house and I will phone them next week with an update. Harvey Norman have been hounding my husband about the delivery of our dining table. They have had this in the warehouse since October!! I think they're loosing patience with us... We are both glad to have seen some progress these past two days. We hope this continues and that they are able to stick to their handover date of 31st July. The photos show that it is going to be a lovely home.
