Re: hire an independent inspector, in which stages? 3Dec 28, 2012 10:11 pm What I'm learning (the hard way) is that if you're going to get it inspected at each stage, or at all, you've got to really be able to push back on the builder and ensure they get things fixed. Mine it would seem have tried to plaster over some of the things the inspector picked up during the frame inspection. We'll be having words about this when the builders come back from holiday. Given that each report has about 8 major items, it's fair to say I'm not particularly happy - we're talking things like sub-standard timber being used, drains being blocked, doorways being completely out of plumb, floors not being level.
