Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Ellenbrook Build - Starting Up 321Mar 18, 2014 12:43 am Congratulations on your baby boy! Wow cant believe how slow Commodore homes have been!!! Id be fuming! My house took 6.5 months, there was a delay in brickies also. But being how long this is taking you would think it would be priority!! I think you guys are last to get slab down, aside from the huge corner lots. I've caught up with your neighbour a handfull of times now and had some good chats with her. Shes so friendly, i dont think you could get a better neighbour!! Also on the plus side, she doesnt appear to be the partying type, so thats always good lol. I also got my house valued by the bank a month ago, they valued it it $420. So im pretty happy with that! Re: Ellenbrook Build - Starting Up 322Mar 18, 2014 3:28 am Thats great to hear got good next door. Reckon our street will be nice hopefully! I think our land went up from 175 to 190 after 3 months of us getting it. This was back 1 year ago now though :p. Well i guess its better late than never i suppose... will still try get it up asap from them. Next time you talk to her next door. Say sorry for any loud noises. Feel bad now having us last with all construction! Re: Ellenbrook Build - Starting Up 323Mar 18, 2014 5:27 am Thats a big jump in land price. There is seriously no land around for under $200k unless you are on one of those horrible 180sq blocks! I was the first to put a deposit down on my land, I paid $159. You never know, fingers crossed and you'll be in your house by christmas Re: Ellenbrook Build - Starting Up 324Mar 18, 2014 9:37 am I built with C Homes and was shortage of brickies. My build slab to keys was 22 weeks. There was 5 week wait between slab and brickie appearing, he took 4 weeks to complete brickwork (mostly in the rain). Hopefully they actually build it quicker for you! Re: Ellenbrook Build - Starting Up 326Mar 18, 2014 12:14 pm 22 weeks is not bad with delays! Hope can be close to that at least. Will try and get them to sort our brickworks as priority. Well try at least. Its amazing how much the land has increased. We got in just at the right time. Guess in building or buying a house in general. Just can continue to sit and think when is it a good time to buy. Just do it when your in the clear. Im hoping that we get a few nice warm days in the coming weeks still and finish before winter really picks up. But time will go fast especially with baby here now! Busybusy 2014 haha. Re: Ellenbrook Build - Starting Up 328Mar 20, 2014 11:05 pm Great stuff. So they actually did start this week like they said haha. So hoping slab soon then. They gave me a online portal i can log into to get updates and pictures from the build what is nice. But they update it every 2 weeks though. Re: Ellenbrook Build - Starting Up 329Mar 20, 2014 11:45 pm Oh I didn't get that, must be new. I used to get progress reports from my CA which were always behind what we were actually up too so pretty pointless hehe hopefully slab next week! Re: Ellenbrook Build - Starting Up 330Mar 21, 2014 3:58 am Fingers crossed smooth sailing from here! I just got fortnightly emails from my builder. Everything was very spot on for time. She would always email late friday afternoon, so i would eagerly be checking my emails all day lol. Re: Ellenbrook Build - Starting Up 333Mar 22, 2014 1:51 pm I used to get sent chart as part of progress report. It was funny saying my house is 57% complete haha Re: Ellenbrook Build - Starting Up 335Mar 25, 2014 3:28 pm Not sure if you want to be updated or you'd rather a surprise when you do come out. But anyway, all your pipes have been laid/dug in and mesh for the slab is delivered. Deffiently gonna get a slab by the end of the week I reckon. Perfect timing if it rains aswell. Re: Ellenbrook Build - Starting Up 336Mar 25, 2014 10:08 pm Thanks for the updates . I think the surprise will be when its actually finished haha. Hope slab down end of week. Least something will be there looking close to a house flooring! Havnt had any time to go down to ellenbrook to check on the land. Hope maybe on my next set of days off possibly. After slab down anyway. Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 17618 Hi We have finally decided to complete a KDR on our corner plot in NE Melbourne suburbs.
