Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Ellenbrook Build - Starting Up 318Jan 20, 2014 2:45 pm Echo2k3 Any updates? I noticed all your neighbours rubbish has been cleared off your land, not sure if they did it or it was your builder finally starting. Ahhhh what a annoying few months we've had! But finally today i rang the shire and they said my plans have been approved! Unfortunately i have been the one running around getting everything sorted and chased up as the builders havn't returned calls, chased up on what my plans/process is etc. Been hassling them everyday for what is happening. I had to change my roof color and render color because apparently it was too dark. Thought during pre-start the builders should of known the restrictions that the land developers and shire have - guess not. So i am hoping the new colors are ok as they seemed to pass the approval. They were lighter in color but the same style. So the final process should happen now and go into scheduling - once again im hoping for a call back from them regarding it...think i will give them another call as i don't have hope for them calling me back haha. So apparently scheduling should take between 4-8 weeks. Will try and get it done as priority ASAP through the builders as its been over a year now since i signed my first contracts and still no pad down. On a good note, babies due 2nd March, give or take. so not long to go for him! Got my last scan end of the week and some special classes with the wife what will be fun! Thanks for letting me know about the land with no rubbish! I was actually going to drive up yesterday after work but the fire near Bradham on Lord Street prevented that haha. How is the area looking? Getting busy and lots houses up and ready, is our land the only one not ready on Bordeaux Lane or still a few vacant lands? How about the sports area down the road - they still working on that? Re: Ellenbrook Build - Starting Up 319Jan 22, 2014 1:18 am What a pain you have to keep chasing up! Sometimes its the only way to get things done though! Good to hear its gotten through the city of swan! Has it been approved through LWP yet? They were painfully slow for me! Though im pretty sure it would have been approved before going to the shire! So many houses are up now! I think theres a block of two still yet to be built on down our street, another commodore homes build has only just gotten their slab down aswell down our road. The sports area is still slowly getting done. Theres 3 cricket pitches, 2 seperate batting cages, water fountains everywhere, exercise equipment and a kids playground has just been put in, aside from that its all sand and weeds still! Going to be a good few months before its ready. I walk my dogs over there as they have fencing all around it up so I can let my dogs off for a run, ive met lady down our road and we let our dogs of to play often. I currently have 3 dogs, oops. One is a foster so he wont be here long. Glad to hear everything is coming along well with the baby! How exciting baby might be moving around by time it comes to move in! That'll be fun lol Hope it moves along now for you!! Re: Ellenbrook Build - Starting Up 320Mar 18, 2014 12:00 am Been awhile since last posted but really had no time! Son has been born 2nd march, healthy for him and the wife. Been great so far. Had weeks off from work and enjoying being a dad. With the house....well its...finnnallly out of scheduling and this week should be site check and next week possibly slab down. Staff said around 7 months to build. Thats ridiculous if you ask me. Apparently they are lacking brick workers. Trying to get priority on out lot as if it will be 7 months we would be close to 2 years since first contracts sign. I guess glad its going anyway and something to show for it in the coming months. Hope they get more brickies etc. Hows the neighborehood so far? Houses still being build around? Havnt been there since last year still i think! Well hope can get pics in the coming weeks etc! Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 17587 Hi, did you get any money from insurance? if you did, does it match what you've already paid the builders? 3 9565 |
