Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Dec 24, 2012 5:16 pm Hi all, After a couple of false starts with other builders (over the last 18 months) we finally signed with Breezeway House http://www.breezewayhouse.com.au/ this week. Plans have been lodged with council and we should start earthworks Jan/Feb next year. We are doing a pull-down (or in our case, sell the house of the block and transport it away) and re-build. We love the area we are in and couldn't find a place that was exactly what we want or a place for the price that we could buy and renovate to the layout/finish we wanted so new build it is. Original sketch/plans I did were given to Darren at Breezeway and he turned them into what they are today. Having been through the selection process for fittings/finishes/etc once already we had a prepared list that we handed over at the initial meeting to get a quote with my sketches. Price came back less than the project builder we had previously dealt with so we continued with him. In the end we are spending about the same as the project builder but getting exactly what we want. This is what it should look like Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Just have to wait now for the start...... ----------------------------------------------- http://pab34newdigs.blogspot.com.au/ ----------------------------------------------- Re: New build.....starting at last! 2Dec 24, 2012 6:22 pm house is awesome congrats how many squares is it Re: New build.....starting at last! 3Dec 24, 2012 6:58 pm yeah, it seems enormous!! congrats, all the very best!! Quite a bit has happened in a month. Exterior almost completely clad and the upper half painted. Interior has almost all the plasterboard hung and the finishers are due next week to finish off the inside. So far the build has gone really well without any major problems, hopefully this will continue…..
