I had my own plans that I gave him which he was happy to work with and finesse. Pre-signing we spent a lot of time sorting out the design and construction details e.g. a recess that the folding screens sit in when not in use, floor level is "flat" across the boards and the stacker door tracks, etc. As he's a builder with a lot of practical knowledge he will tell you what can and can't be built upfront. Worked to our budget - we had 4 or 5 variations along the way (instigated by us) so we knew what they were and what the cost was going to be, nothing unexpected from Breezeway. We did 'over-spec' the original contract so the original price was close to what we were expecting with the level of finish we hoping for. It was finished ahead of time and overall experience was good - I'd happily have him build my next home. Lastly, the 'finish'. Overall the construction and finish are quite good. There were some minor issues with paint and grouting. This unfortunately comes down to which sub-contractor Breezeway are using at the time, I know he doesn't use the same people that worked on our home now but who's on their team and what their quality/finishing is like - I can't comment. These two are by Breezeway and are currently for sale if you wanted to look thru a couple of their houses: https://www.realestate.com.au/property- ... -129907842 https://www.realestate.com.au/property- ... -129957010 Good luck! Thanks for your extensive response, really appreciate it, we will be contacting Breezeway for sure! Hope you are enjoying your home. Cheers, K&D Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 17601 1 10482 |
