Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 19, 2013 5:31 pm Hi We are new to Australia and are currently renting. We have found an old house for sale on a large plot of land that we are thinking of buying and building two houses on to sell for a profit once completed. Since we are new to Australia house building is also new to us! I know we have to contact the council and check to see if our plans are ok before we engage someone to draw up plans, and then I assume we get the boundry permissions done from the plan and find a builder? I have checked the Building Commission website but Owner Buildings cant make a proft so I assume that the information there dosent apply in our case since this is an investment for us. Apart from this forum, which looks invalable, is there any other website that I can read a step by step guide of everything I have to do/plan for when do this type of build? Every search I try in Google brings up another house building company! Any information would be helpful, thank you.
