Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Dec 21, 2012 11:51 am It's been a long time getting to this stage but we have finally got there. From the time that we decided to move to Perth, June 2012, till now, prestart meeting on the 7/12/12, it has been a very hectic few months. We sold our home, moved into a rental and that's an experience I don't wish to go through again. Got a job transfer to Perth. Whilst this was going on we were tooing and throwing with the design of our new home and trying to comply with Canning Council regulations. We finally came to a agreement, I must say we have a very odd shaped block. We got title to the block 2 days before Prestart and we are on the way. Prestart went well with a couple of not structural changes and $23,000 extra in things we wanted. We got notice of planning approval, I assume this must be got before application for building approval is made. Due to the Christmas break there will be a delay of a few weeks and we hope to see some sort of building activity some time in March 2013. The Redink experience has been great so far, touch wood i hope it continues. Steve & Lyn Re: Our Redink Journey Begins Finally. 2Dec 21, 2012 12:55 pm Congratulations! Re: Our Redink Journey Begins Finally. 5Dec 21, 2012 8:33 pm Congratulations on the start of this journey! Re: Our Redink Journey Begins Finally. 9May 04, 2013 7:31 pm We are very annoyed with Redink at the moment. we had our pre start meeting 6 months ago, made no structural changes. We were due to have our slab laid last week. I call the SS and he tells me that there is a delay because my neighbors on 2 sides have dogs and there will be a need to temporary fences, I have 2 walls on the boundaries. He also told me the fences will be installed this week, that didn't happen, and the slab will be laid next week, I have my doubts. You would think someone from Redink would have checked for any of these problems before they send people around to start construction. For goodness sake they could have asked me. Very sloppy and we are rapidly loosing confidence in Redink and have had enough of being treated like mushrooms. When the slab is down I will be asking and expecting to get a construction scheduled from them. I wish I had insisted on penalties for delays in completion. Steve A very disillusioned Redinker.
