I honestly believe you have a beautiful home and unfortunately you have been handed a rough deal but things can only get better not worse from here... keep your chins up... Nothing worse than feeling like u do now but tomorrow is a new day x My build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=63673 Re: Aveling in Mandurah - Update pics, getting there slowly 842Sep 22, 2013 8:42 pm Hang in there SB. Despite all the hiccups, you have still got a beautiful house. I think every little problem is just multiplied 10x at the moment with everything that's going on. You'll get through! Good to hear flooring is being sorted!! Ours is much better since being redone! Don't have animals so hard to comment on scratching. Sorry to hear about the water issues!! I really hope things are on the up for you!! I love that wood stove. Trying to convince the other half we could fit one in, somewhere!! Despite all the hiccups, you have still got a beautiful house. I think every little problem is just multiplied 10x at the moment with everything that's going on. You'll get through! My build: viewtopic.php?t=62001 I agree with this, SB. When a few things go wrong, it can feel like EVERYTHING is going wrong. I know I tend to panic a bit and think I'm jinxed when things go wrong. But then the days pass and a few things start going right again, and all of a sudden I look back at how I felt when everything was going wrong and I realise I was just stuck in it, you know what I mean? The photos look great, you've really done a lot of great things to make your house a beautiful home....the loungeroom looks lovely and that little lighted window nook really finishes it off. There's still so much to be happy about; just put one foot in front of the other and take each day as it comes - and I'll bet after new year you'll be thinking the house you built and the move you made was the right decision after all. The two of you have really made the house look like a beautiful and welcoming home! I forgot to mention before I LOVE the clock!! Re: Aveling in Mandurah - Update pics, getting there slowly 849Sep 23, 2013 12:02 pm Thanks all, I shouldn't have even posted last night, am a little compulsive . Just needed to vent. Everything started so positively, getting my clock on the wall and the old fashioned window frame etc, it was a really lovely day. I am ok this morning, especially after this suburb really copped the full force of the storm last night - scariest night I have ever had - if that was only strong winds I'd hate to think what a cyclone sounds like. I was praying / pleading that nothing would blow away and thankfully everything is intact as far as I can tell. However I still have doubts about DH's feelings about this house. I really don't want to sell, I like our neighbours, it's very quiet and our home is so welcoming. I know I need to think positively but it's hard when you seem to be followed by bad luck for an entire 12 months and more. I'm not a religious person but next door are and I'm going to ask our neighbours if they can arrange to have our home blessed, it can't hurt and will probably make us feel better. In the meantime we just have to get through the next 33 days and then we are off on holidays. We haven't told our housesitter about our troubles around here but I guess she will work it out for herself once she has moved in haha. Here is the self inflicted damaged, all repaired and the emergency plumber is $250 richer. I don't care, am just glad it was fixable. Anyway he said they aren't like the old school ones and the ones we have installed apparently have a flap on them so that air can't back flow into the house, he said we should just be able to remove the flap and fix it ... Just thought I would let you know that it could be that My build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=63673 Re: Aveling in Mandurah - Update pics, getting there slowly 853Sep 23, 2013 7:44 pm Tell your other half not to feel too bad. One of our tradies did the same thing on Saturday while putting in the toilet roll holder. Plumber had to come out today to fix. Hope u start feeling better about the house. It does get depressing when things go wrong. Hopefully u can look past all the dramas and are able to enjoy your beautiful house. He's no fool that's for sure, but even the cleverest make mistakes when they are overdue for a break Newby I look forward to an update of how the k!ll that noise x 4 haha And again thanks all of you for your encouragement. It would be awesome if your prediction came true, i really would like to stay put this time, although the kids running across my lawn hopefully won't happen .. not enough kids in the area or houses for that matter. Now there's a plus haha. Re: Aveling in Mandurah - Update pics, getting there slowly 857Sep 30, 2013 8:50 pm Productive weekend.... The rain finally went away today.
Thank you to George the bricklayer for our new letterbox. We use the leftover bricks from our rendered over fireplace fiasco. We have exactly 1 brick leftover.. How's that? Love the letterbox!! We still don't have one Did you get a resolution about your back roller door? We are having the same issue. I had assumed it would be water tight but a fair bit of water comes under when it rains!! We spent today pulling up weeds in the backyard. Off to by some weed killer tomorrow!! Re: Aveling in Mandurah - Update pics, getting there slowly 860Sep 30, 2013 8:59 pm No fmac, hubby has drilled in a weather strip, no improvement. We are more than likely going to add another weather strip over the top and then reassess again. Just got to make sure we don't end up tripping over it haha. I was also in the garden, great weather for it. My front yard is nearly ready for pics. 2 more weeks and good westher should do it. Have fun fmac, it's therapeutic. 4 14387 Unless there is something in special conditions the builder does not have to give you timeline.
