We were lucky, because our contract didnt specify which ceiling colour the plasterboard should be in the alfresco so we were able to argue the point and won. However DH isn't happy with it and will paint over it with one more coat as he can still see bits of yellow coming through (its not bothering me for a change lol) Re: Building with Aveling in MH- gardens, pantry, animal!! 823Sep 12, 2013 5:45 pm momomo Ours is yellow too.....to be honest I don't mind it though...and it matches our drainpipes We did get them to amend the weird placement of the eaves in the al fresco (in respect to the brick pillars) though...I really didn't like that look and jumped up and down about it until they agreed to do it the normal way. Ohhhh you lucky duck. I wish I had been more forceful on that. They look super weird and as you say, NOT NORMAL!!!! However, we are getting a quote for patio blinds tomorrow - if you hear someone choking it will be me all the way in MH - and I'm kinda hoping they can 'rest' some of the fittings on those ugly square things and that might disguise the look a bit? Re: Building with Aveling in MH- gardens, pantry, animal!! 824Sep 12, 2013 9:30 pm SB no strange sound coming from the fan at our house so I can't help you there.... Hopefully u can get it sorted x My build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=63673 Re: Building with Aveling in MH- gardens, pantry, animal!! 825Sep 12, 2013 9:43 pm Aveling newby SB no strange sound coming from the fan at our house so I can't help you there.... Hopefully u can get it sorted x Was it windy at yours? It only does it if there's a bit of a breeze, which is most days . I actually think they've possibly all been installed incorrectly? I just can't imagine that this is normal? Never ever have I heard any fan make that kind of noise let alone all 4 of them. I think I will message Blond1E. She's been in hers for a while now, should have asked ages ago. Re: Building with Aveling in MH- gardens, pantry, animal!! 826Sep 12, 2013 10:01 pm Yeah I haven't been in there much today but ill let u know if I hear anything different My build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=63673 Re: Building with Aveling in MH- gardens, pantry, animal!! 827Sep 12, 2013 10:45 pm SB, I remember you saying you were going to do that with your outdoor blinds...I think the set up you have will actually be better for outdoor blinds...so in that way it's a bonus. It's not the end of the world, even if we had have done them the same way as yours we would have lived with them quite easily...I just prefer them the other way, and we were lucky to have the foresight because you - in all your radiant beauty - gave us a heads up! Love me anyway! Using the yuck weather today to hang some more of my precious knick knacks and some more workshop sorting for DH. Photos below. Haven't heard anymore about the noisy fans, its pending a query with the engineers at the manufacturers but I doubt whether they will get back to me. With this wild weather they've certainly been testing my patience but nothing a good set of squishy earplugs won't fix during the night It's in the too hard basket for now along with so many other things I can't be bothered with Re Karndean floor. I have had a letter saying that Karndean are sending out their 'own' contractor to lift, sand and relay all the lifting and scratched ones plus they are also looking at the big lump in the kitchen but I'm not sure how much of that can be rectified. Time will tell. The builders SS also came out to have a look but unfortunately because the floor is already down they are unable to rectify and smooth out any highs and lows (not entirely convinced they would have done anything anyway - I'm sure I would have had the it's good enough for industry standards waved in front of me as they usually do). I will be happy if the lump in the kitchen is less noticeable and the planks in question are replaced. Good on Karndean for doing so!! Great customer service because as far as I'm concerned most of it is the original layers problem and nothing to do with Karndean. As for the continuing scratching, if you have this floor, DO NOT USE AN UPRIGHT VAC, DO NOT LET THE DOGS RUN AND MAKE SURE YOU HAVE FELT UNDER EVERY SINGE PIECE OF FURNITURE and you won't have a problem - socks and no shoes are also a good idea as every bit of sand under your shoes can potentially cause damage. Our battle with the garage roller door continues. It seems it can't be made water tight and it's now up to us. DH has already placed a weather strip underneath and will now try some more silicone. If anyone has any bright ideas I'd appreciate some input. When it's a heavy downpour it floods one whole side of the garage. Not ideal at all and I just don't get it as the last garage we had was in the same orientation and even wider but no water go in Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ First mow and he was soooo happy about it Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I've made a start on the front yard and my poor little Chinese Tallow trees and mini Jacaranda are barely surviving through this awful weather we've been having. My Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=62841 Re: Aveling in Mandurah - Update pics, getting there slowly 837Sep 22, 2013 7:08 pm Thanks everyone. Heart Latest update. In our wisdom we just drilled a hole straight through our water pipe in the PWD room. 24 hr emergency plumber in the way. Have spent the last 20 minutes frantically mopping and wiping hallway, office, kitchen and all walls. YES IT SPREAD THAT FAR. DH is now really cracking up. He says he hates it here. We are truly jinxed. Don't buy anything with the number 25. And I have been trying so hard to love love love our home but something always goes hideously wrong? Why??? Re: Aveling in Mandurah - Update pics, getting there slowly 838Sep 22, 2013 7:23 pm Oh no SB - I'm sure it's easily done.... Ughh I feel for you xo your house is beautiful - once the water dries things will get better xx keep positive My build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=63673 Re: Aveling in Mandurah - Update pics, getting there slowly 839Sep 22, 2013 7:32 pm Well the plumber is here. $230 an hour and he's just started smashing out the wall. He says he's unsure whether it can be fixed by him. Whaaaat?? My husband is saying the only way to fix things once and for all is to sell up and leave. he wants the old me back. The one that used to be well and happy. I actually think this was the last straw for him. Hopefully he will calm down. I keep thinking this is the last thing, then another comes along and another and another. I get why he's had enough and he's the strong one. Ok the beer is on ice, a thorough drowning might be in order tonight. Tomorrow is another day.... And I'm sure with that will come a new challenge. If only.........
