It really is looking great! Hopefully the weather will stay nice Also do you mind giving me a ball park on your lovely wood stove? We are considering it as we can possibly fit a nice small one in the corner of the living, though might go on the in 5 years list Re: Aveling in Mandurah - Update pics, getting there slowly 862Jan 05, 2014 7:13 pm Happy 2014, lovely lady! Messy business and an ongoing process over the next few weeks BUT ...... no more noisy fans!!!!!!!! Have not heard a peep out of any of them for 36 hours!!! Me very happy. Total bliss!!!!! Amazing and such a simple process. It's just a bit of foam tape. Why oh why doesn't the manufacturer supply them like that? Why oh why doesn't the manufacturer supply them like that? Please explain??? Our fans are driving us nuts!! What is foam tape and what do we need to do with it? Thanks Hey Tracy, I feel your pain!!! Those 6 months did my head in. Only ever had one bath and then never again because it just wasn't relaxing unless you listen to your iPod with headphones All I know is that the builder and manufacturer said there's nothing that can be done but we (I) just kept complaining and wouldn't give up. Turns out there's been a lot of complaining about it and the maintenance guy knew how to sort it. When you shift the flume aside you should see the plastic flaps keeping the hot air out. When those flaps open and shut and because it's plastic on plastic it's causing the awfully annoying noise. To fix that is to put a bit of foam tape, you know that white spongy tape about 15mm wide with one sticky side, on the solid bit of plastic to muffle the noise. I haven't been in the roof myself to see what the maintenance guy did but that's kind of how he explained it to me and it works a treat!!!! Hubby just said if you like he will try and get in the roof tomorrow to see if he can spot what this guy did and he can explain to you. Seeing we finished already 9 months ago (can't believe it's been this long WOW!!), maybe I've lost you all? Anyhow before I finish this thread for good I thought I'd update with some more pics especially of the gardens. It's amazing how everything has gone berserk. My 1m stick of a jacaranda is now a gorgeous 3m tree - well she's still skinny but she's fattening up nicely. My bali garden beside the alfresco has grown so much that the 'miniature' bamboo is now reaching the top of the fence. My tiger grass is also 3 times the size it was only 6 months ago. I'm very happy with it all and all in all am very content here. I feel our home is very welcoming and that's exactly what I had hoped to achieve. Looking lovely . Very inviting . It must feel strange no more updates on your blog . You never know you might build again . Love your bulkhead . I which I had put them in my house . Probley would of if I had found this forum earlier on . But in saying that I think if I had been on this earlier I would of been more impatient seeing everyones houses go up instead of mine. It's on most days and makes a lovely gentle splashing sound. A lot of the frangipani leaves drop straight into the water which has worked out kind of handy haha. I absolutely love this piece of Bali Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Aveling in Mandurah - anyone still out there? 875Apr 11, 2014 11:24 pm Thanks melsie and belzey. Yes it's hard to believe, it was August last year and all plants are either cuttings of friends or small pots to keep cost down and were planted from around the end of September / October onwards. I now truly believe in a mixture of pig, mushroom and potting mix. Really should have taken some day time pics but I always forget Re: Aveling in Mandurah - anyone still out there? 876Apr 11, 2014 11:27 pm Melsie68 I love seeing the finish product with all the furniture in it . Yes it is a bit strange, but as the name suggests I've done this way too many times and this one 'broke' me haha. I will leave it at 'I'm having a break for a while and enjoy it' Look forward to following your build Re: Aveling in Mandurah - anyone still out there? 877Apr 11, 2014 11:46 pm This is my second build first one very basic small home . This one not everything I won't in a home but nearly there . Maybe one more home . But next time going on axiety tablets first . I must say easier when you have 2 little kids building first home than 6 kids second home .
